I heard HCI is strong in humanity programme (and of course Chinese programme), what about RI? Science?[/quote]I also heard that HCI's Humanity Programme is very strong, some RGS girls applied to join HCI in Year 5 for that. On the other hand, HCI website says \"Hwa Chong Leads the Nation in Mathematics, Science & Project Work at 2009 GCE A-Level Examinations\"
can u tell who is the one making the decision in his associate of friends? if that person is not your son, then you will probably need a heart to heart talk, understand his strengths and weaknesses, and chooses the school yourselfGuthix:

Yes. he is following his friends blindly, that bothers me a lot. -
fruitplus:
Yes that's correct. RI is rather well-rounded and is very famous. It is extremely useful for a recommendation for lawyers and doctors.

No, not exactly true. The accelerated syllabus and the module courses is what that interest my son most. And some other very influential pupils, as I suspect, are leading the fight for NUSHS. Young people their age are incredibly vulnerable to such techniques, as they view themselves as \"grown-ups\" and don't really care for elders' advice and are young and indecisive enough to fall for the techniques, making the society of the class largely power-based. Fortunately, my son does not fall under any of the above categories.
Really, i thought propaganda was only between HCI and RI, have not heard of any propaganda concerning NUSHS yet. HCI and RI are strongly against each other as they compete for the best \"A\" level results each year, dont know why your child told you about NUSHS being in the equation as well. -

I am from HCI personally and have not heard of any propaganda messages about NUSHS at all.

At the Open-house Day of RI, the principal proudly said that 2/3 of the lawyers of Singapore are from RI. But perso I do not like that.

The rivalry goes back all the way some 20 - 30 yesrs back, HCJC and RJC, they fight each other in everything, from academic to sport…
Academic is fighring for top 2 JC spot. they both seems to take turn musical chair between the 2 position.
Sports competition even more intense, usually meet in finals when both side student boo at each other. -

Years ago, my DH and I were faced with the decision, and we chose RJC. However, we feel that HCI has been more progressive over recent years even though RI is still prestigious. It is probably because of the bond between those that is going for NUSHS that make it seem as if it has popular support. Highly likely that this all originated from one influential person and wanted classmates on his side. NOTE: DS is not that person. Or maybe that's just a joke. After all the day to decide is weeks away

Ha Ha... So we are opposite \"camp\". I am on the other \"camp\", so I never like the opposite \"camp\".Years ago, my DH and I were faced with the decision, and we chose RJC. I think your boys will like it there. Err... which HCI, Sec or JC?
But to be neutral after looking at things for so long since my schools day. they both have a fair share of glorious moment, each has its up time and down time.
The worst hit was when HCJC moves to Bt Batok. The result drops drastically. \"Feng Shui\"? -
JonC:
So you were from HC yourself? Do you have any children in HCI now? My elder son in HCI High School section, he is very happy there and we really like the school programme, that's why the younger one is heading there next year.So we are opposite \"camp\". I am on the other \"camp\", so I never like the opposite \"camp\".
