I joined that grassroots during the time when I was in uni. Didn’t know about HDB parking, primary school registration etc. Only when I became a parent then I realised about the 2B thingy. Ha ha!! Almost 10 years of serving and I still enjoy the grassroots work. The best part is that I not even living in that GRC i serve…

Are you referring to privileges? There's no difference. In terms of work, may be less for NC as there are much less units unlike HDB. In my zone, there are 22 blocks with more than 2000 households. Most importantly, you serve in the zone you belongs to, if you're living in private estate, you should serve in your NC.

can I just check if I can enter the CCMC route, I need to serve at least 1 yr as EM before I can qualify to apply under Phase 2b?


If the GRC I volunteer in is not the area I stay, is it still possible to go under 2b for a sch I reside in? (assumming I am a CCMC member)

If you have read the previous threads, you will realise that as a CCMC member you will be under 2B for the GRC you served and the GRC you reside.

1) CCMC = Community Club Management Committee

2) Be in the Management Committee of the CC. Organise activities for residents, etc

Thinking about my girl's(born in 2007) primary registration now though she will be registering for 2014 year's P1

Currently working as an observer in my NC, hopefully will be an executive member before next year.

When registration in 2013, I m sure will be an executive member more than 1 year. So I will be qualified under phase 2B.

I am aming at Rulang PS, but living only 1-2Km to School. From past history, how is my chance of registation under 2B? will need ballot?
