Yes I agree with you but with some MIL(like mine) even though house is ours ie mine and DH she feels its theirs cause DH is his son oredi :stupid: so can be empress dowager

then you gotta whack that DH of urs... :spank:

DH always plays diplomatically :|[/quote]I think it's easier said than done but if it's our own home, we gotta be the empress, not MIL. If MIL wanna be dowager, then I would ask her to return to her own palace. If she wanna cry to my hubby, then I would tell hubby to find a better woman to take care of him, his kids and his parents.
I will not be relegated to a palace maid in my own home that I used my money and CPF to buy. Speak to me again if he can afford the property by himself, without any help from me.

My mom says she can be empress dowager only in her own home. So if my bro and SIL wanna stay with them under my parents' roof, my bro and SIL gotta be respectful. Otherwise, they can go back to their own home and look after their own kid.

But my mom says once the parents live under their children's roofs, the parents gotta know when to shut up. To her, it's a matter of who owns the home. So she will never sell her home to live with her kids coz she wanna be dowager.

        I agree with her.
        Ur mum is clever.....

So true...if want to be dowager, please stay in own place. My grandmother is 80+, has her own flat (left by my grandfather) but keeps dropping hints of selling it. Problem is she cannot stay with anyone and no one is in favour of her selling it. That flat is for her to throw tantrums.

My mum is also one who will never sell her home to stay with her kids, bcos she wants to be dowager.

              So TRUE man.

His mother wants to be dowager, but don’t forget my name is in the house as OWNER too. That’s the reason why I don’t want to hold any birthday parties/occasions in my house, bcos she behaves like dowager. :x
Can you believe when my son was just born in the hospital, she behaved as though the hospital room belonged to her, sitting there like some dowager :x until my friend who visited me scrambled to leave ? My friend sms-ed me after that…told her I understood.

Can you believe she was sitting like some dowager in my hospital room ? Why would I give her anymore chances to behave like a dowager in my house ?

She showed up in the hospital as my son is first grandson born…subsequently for my 2nd one who is a girl, she was looking for company to go to the hospital. There were so MANY calls to hubby’s hp… :x told hubby to tell her NO need to visit.

She came into the room with hands behind her back, peeped at my gal, then left the room and chat outside with her sons like some conference.
Oh yes, brought some 凉茶 because she thinks her son has no chance to sleep at night. BTW, her son goes home every night bcos mine was a 2-bedder and he can’t stay.

She has a habit of doing all these kind of things, as if her son not nourished enough. Hubby now eating home-cooked meals all the time as compared to before getting married. Drama queen :x as is she is so caring.

I thot i read somewhere that when ur DH not well she didnt turn up in the hospital too

When my hubby had eye operation earlier this year, she didn't bother to visit him this time, expecting me to stay overnight to look after him. What kind of a mother is she ? Either she is a drama queen or else bochap.
