But then she might do at places where there is no camera :P[/quote]Do what i did. I placed dummy cams in the master bed room and other rooms with no camera( I have a cctv system with 6 cameras - 3 inside and 3 outside) I had to do it as my maid was going through my clothes and i believe trying them on. I made a remark about it and she immediately denied it and insisted that she never tried on a particular item. That really caught her out as that particular item had been in a bag at the back of the cupboard. After this incident i put dummy cameras and got my computer guy to pretend that he was installing them. No more going through drawers and clothes!!!
that is precisely the point. prevention better than cure. at least the damage not done so blantantly.dfstan:

Must keep in mind to try when maid play punk. -
Maids, even though family members help out with housework and not leave everything to them, will not appreciate it. It’s their calculative mentality…which cannot be changed, worse if they are brainwashed.
I find they are not here to work at all…just have fun, transfer if not happy and then finally balek kampung with no savings at all. -
Guess you are right, Janet. I really gave my previous maid countless chances despite the many mistakes she made, even serious mistakes. Yet she is not appreciative and gave me alot of problems...
I don't understand, if you treat people well, why aren't they touched (esp. when they are away from home) and appreciate? :?janet_lee88:
Angelight,
Mais are NEVER grateful nor appreciative of how they are treated.
Even if you give her your heart, she will not appreciate.
But in my opinion, once my child falls or has to see a doctor because of maid's carelessness, OFF she goes. -
Just curious, has anyone here reached quota of 5 or 6 maids and had application put on hold by MOM till employers course ws completed or had interview with their officer?
-
Angelight,
I ever asked my agent the same question - aren’t maids human too and why they never appreciate ???
She told me those Indonesian maids simply do not take other people’s kind thoughts into consideration 不重情, 没有人情味. It’s very very true.
But I can’t bring myself to ill-treat or scream at them. -
I have learned my lessons not to treat them like family members ever since my first maid. No matter how well we treated them, they eventually left for greener pasture - all three of them left for Europe after just one year. So for our current one, we are giving her fewer perks such as phone cards, pocket money, and not let her sleep in our aircon guest room. We also don’t take her out as often and go on holidays w/o her (partially it’s b/c our kids r bigger now). They r after all, workers, not family.

Hi minnie2004, I agreed with you.. They do not appreciate us cos They do not treat us like their family too..they think they are just here to work n be paid..I had set my maid back on Thursday n now feel so much relieved...strangely, my 5 yrs old girl Is happy n did not miss her at all even though she had been with us for 11/2 yrs.. When I came back on d same day n chatting with next door neighbour, I was told the maid is always chatting on d hp with her earpiece when I was out in d am....u see..this is just one of the things she does when I'm not around...but when I'm around, things are different...they are just too good in their acting..all these I can close one eye but having bf is definitely a no no for me...they just get bolder n bolder each time if we dun take any actions -

I couldn't agree more with you. Maids cannot be treated as part of the family because they are not. It's definitely not worth treating them well like giving them phone cards to call home or bringing them out on Sundays. My agency even told me not to start buying teabreaks for them or they will expect it...which is so true :x :x
We go to IMM often and sometimes get food stuff like curry puff or Beard Papa as the kids love them. I gave them small treats like this and after 1 or 2 times, they EXPECT this everytime...and stare greedily when the kids eat.
