Hi hi.. I'm totally clueless about the TPY area, and my son's gg to start British council classes there soon... Are there any good restaurants within walking distance from the Hub? Best if it's within the hub itself... cos our schedule is so packed, we are going to squeeze in a birthday dinner right after his first lesson

Thanks in advance for any recommendations..

Within walking distance, there’s Crystal Jade, Soup Restaurant, Swensens, Sakae near Courts/cinema. There’s also a new restaurant at the Orange Tee building (which is also near Courts). The fast food joints and Ichiban Boshi are very near the hub itself. Just slighly further down the road is Hog’s Breath Cafe, Sizzler and Old Town. Food court at the basement of interchange. Newly refurbished. The coffeeshop upstairs (where the banks are located) is not good I’m afraid. There are quite a few coffeeshops dotted around too.

I'm clueless about TPY area too...my daughter will be going to primary school in that area next year. Will have to figure out some places to eat for lunch and 打包 for my son's lunch on some days when I'm lazy to cook.

Janet, which school is your daughter going to? CHIJ? There’s a market nearby Lor 1/2, near the TPY council, some nice food there.

Any idea where has the bakery shop from the old HDB Hub food court gone to? They used to have freshly buns in the morning and my kids like them very much.

If it's near the (before renovation) stairs and escalator, along the rojak stall, it's 'Bread of life'. I have seen them in pushcart at amk hub and sun plaza.......

I missed the mee rebus and mee siam from the Malay stall at the other end.
Anyone knows where did they go?

The old HDB basement foodcourt has very good coffee and tea.
                  It's gone too....
                  😢

My goodness, the Q for the rojak was super long even at 3 to 4pm on a weekday afternoon! We didn't have time to join the Q though.

hey hey friend....maybe you saw me in the queue? Yes the rojak is nice from this stall and it is long queue at ANY time of the day!!!! 😉

So disappointed after long wait for the hub foodcourt renovation, my favourite malay stall(2nd last stall) is gone 😢 . I love their mee siam, mee rebus and also chicken rice. Oh my ds loves their mee sotong. I heard from the same fruit stall boos many shifted out due to the new rental too high.

The famous lai heng minced pork noodle at blk 85, they are moving to the UNO coffeeshop at blk 51, lor6 in mid june. The aunty selling the teochew style congee will not be continuing. (the aunty is the minced pork's boss elder sis.)
                        Yalor.
                        I miss Yong's (Teochew) Kueh especially ku-chai kueh 😞
