to me, lizards are scarier than cockroaches.

i treat cockroaches as beetles to bring down the fear factor.
i don't like lizards cos they have eyeballs and can stare at me! :!:
Haha..agree with you. I really can't stand cockroaches and lizards. However, lizards give me the creeps because they are cold and soft. Eww! And they are nasty too cos lizards like to deliberately jump on you from the wall or ceiling if you try to kill them.

When we were young, my parents used to tell us to to beware of lizards' tails that fall off cos it can jump into our ear. :!:

      I think I :offtopic: liao.

Thank God I've never met a JUMPER. My scream is enough to make them run for their lives.

I didn't realize how fast my sister can move until an encounter with a flying cockroach. There was just a most deafening shriek and then - a vacuum - in the chair just next to me which was occupied by my sister less than 0.0s ago. Yes... reaching escape velocity with zero acceleration is possible... just power the rocket with flying cockroaches.

Haha, this reminds me of the time when i was 8months plus pregnant. I'm very very scaredf of cockroaches and somehow, they only appear when my husband is not in town. I was mopping the floor in the living room at night, staring blankly at the floor when suddenly, i caught something brown at the corner of my eyes. Turns out to be a hugh cockroach crawling towards me. I screamed at the top of my lungs and literally escaped to my kitchen in one hugh olympic leap. After i managed to drown the cockroach in bygone, i was still very scared so that night, i ended up sleeping on the kitchen floor 😄

Ha ha me too super frightened of cockroach, yikes!! Gets goosebumps every time… DH is super good at killing them, he will roll up whatever he can gets his hands on and smacks them flat… Ha ha ha…

DD2 is like him, DD1 will scream when she sees it but DD2 just steps on it (when they saw it outside of home) and says "you are bigger than the cockroach"…

we have some house pets with name like Proud Lizard who would strut his / her stuff at night, walking in front of u slowly, like a model on catwalk runway, crossing the living room in broad night light…showing us how fat he / she is …

I hate cockroaches…the more you try to whack them, the more they will fly towards you. I scream whenever I see cockroaches esp the ADULT ones. Oh yes, I also scream when I see cats. The way they approach is so eeks ! There was once my uncle brought us to a place in East Coast to have dinner…there were many cats…half the time I was looking for them rather than at my meal. Oh yes, I sat on the chair with my legs crossed and swear never to go there again, although the pork chops were DELICIOUS.

starting from last year, DW would need to travel to China around May-Aug, for either 2 or 4 trips. Supposed to be 4 last year but reduced to 2 cos of the bird flu concern.

This year she was away 2 wk each for both trips, with a week in betw.

It was worse off last year because both kids took turns to fall sick just when she was away 😢

Can be tough as need to make adjustments both at work and at home. Luckily my parents helped out more during the period.

On pests, there was dengue outbreak at my neighbourhood just when DW was away in July, and NEA cleaned the vicinity more, and also washed and i think sprayed something down the chute. During that period, I prob killed more roaches in the 2 weeks than the rest of the 10 yrs i've been staying there, combined...

we'll kill lizards in the house too, if we can find them. But at my mum's place (upstairs), she will tell me not to kill. So those bold lizards can come out dancing on the walls and floors too 😛 Once I was so angry when 1 of those large ones went onto the dining table when we were not in the kitchen, and i got a sticky pad/trap, overnight, got 3 adults stuck there. My mum called me to go over quickly, then tell me she was very uncomfortable seeing them like that and asked me to dispose of them quickly...

personally, i can't stand mosq the most, and will try to hunt them down if they appear. I'm training my kids to do the same too 😉

The lizards in my house are very bold and spiteful…always leaving shit all over :x So I told hubby we gotta try and get rid of them. They start ‘singing’ every night and once we switch off the lights at night, they come out to party.
