I have problem feeding my girl nordic naturals cod liver oil. She hates it and refuses to swallow. Occasionally she will take but most of the time she refuses to swallow and today she spat out all and it ended up all over her face and hair!! It was so oily and smelly due to the fishy smell. oh my... I was so angry and upset with her and had to bathe her immediately with soap but the smell still there!!

How do I make her take the cod liver oil? she had no problem taking scotts emulsion cod liver oil though.. she loves it. But I thought nordic naturals is better thus changed to that. Sigh.

Should I change back to scotts then? But I have to make her finish this bottle of nordic naturals if not so wasted!
      help..
Oh dear, poor u and poor kiddo. Yah, fully agree that the Nordic fish oil very strong. My girls didn't quite like taking them too.

Not sure how old is your girl, but if she is old enuf to swallow capsules, then buy the kids version. I think the capsules are smaller, so easier to swallow as well.

Another way is to \"strategise\". Whenever I give them the Nordic fish oil, I have a small cup of apple juice or ribena to drink after that. However, must confess that it took them a long time finish the bottle. In the end, I got them the kids version with capsules. Less stress for everyone after that.

If she still resists in taking Nordic, then guess have no choice but to switch to cod liver oil. At least better than nothing. As for the remaining Nordic, this is where daddy comes in useful. You can pass it to him to finish the balance. That's what I did.... pass to dh to finish. kekeke... 👅

      😉

Nordic is pure oil, some kids might resist.

I just dump my boy’s fish oil into his milk, then shake well before giving it to him. No choice cos he started to gag on the oil recently. But when added to his milk, he just drank the milk without complaints.

My girl just reached 20 months old and I think I am facing the TERRIBLE 2 now. 😞

I added the oil into yogurt and she is taking it fine. But everyday give yogurt?? as in really everyday, every single day.. ?

My hb is hopeless, he won't touch the cod liver oil. In the end if need be, I will be the one to finish it. 😞

My friend did that, add into FM but it makes the milk bottle very oily and difficult to wash off. But her girl is taking it without complaints too.

            hmm.....

              Mine's fresh milk, not FM.

We use Pureen's bottle & vege wash, so can get rid of any oily feeling easily.

Am so glad I stumbled upon this.

I am switching to Nordic oil after the current Scotts oil finishes. I do agree its very strong. I tried and had to swallow it bravely when given the sample.

I shall start psyching my DS now to prepare him for the eventual change.

Nanana, I give my DS yogurt almost everyday. He likes the ones from petit miam 😄

I bought Nordic vitamin years back for my son...the one with peach flavour but I still find it VERY fishy. :dowan: The cup of water which he drank from still has a smell which I have to wash with soap.
