the one thing i cant get over is, there is no flash! simple web surfing.. okay.

I would never be able to justify to buy an iPad for myself due to the \"Apple style\".. too many restrictions, limited media file support etc.. can't met my requirements..

But I bought 1 for my kids & partner, and felt it is worth every cent!

They all enjoyed using it.. And there are many useful education apps & games too.. and many are free.. in fact, till now I have never paid a single cent for all the Apps.

And the reason I like it is bcoz of the \"Apple style\" too.. What they can do, they really shine in it.. the Apps runs smooth, the browser is fast, the interface is easy to use, and the design is sleek too.

Just don't expect it to do what is is not design to do, like bluetooth file transfer, installing programs not from itune store, play flash, play unsupported media files, download internet files etc.. you'll only make yourself miserable.. that's the reason why many pple are pissed off with Apple products.. Like everything also cannot do..

just take note, it is Not a notebook substitute.. it does what Apple designed it to do Only.

Meh, i own an iPhone (which i’m typing this post on) and my parents own an iPad. Sad to say, imo the iPad is not very practical. Oh yes, it has got a bigger screen, but basically all it does is surf the web and play games and write little notes and stuff. With my iPhone, i can do lots more in addition to those… i’ve typed out word documents in my iphone and also edited my friend’s powerpoint presentation when my computer screwed up. Plus, the iphone is much more compact. Oh, and it can take pictures.


Althoughi agree that the ipad is a great device, i would still prefer the iphone. But yes, the big screen is an advantage.

Thanks.I hv registered n transferred my file to drop box. Ez to use. Very good. However, I hv another question...I transferred a Chinese text book but I can't read it. iPad can't support Chinese text?

it depends on the format of the movie that has been downloaded. but for w.tv, no need to convert anything. download is done on the iPad itself and plays directly too. very easy.

Just to update on DH's kapud IPad sent for servicing.. ...He got a new one

cool! W.tv? Click on e icon and at e bottom, u will see \"DVD\", click that and many titles will appear. Choose e ones u like, click to download and viola. enjoy.
