Frankly speaking, I have no idea whether the franchise in jorong point is good or not.

But I know that they are run by individual franchisee that they get their license and software from the main center.
The main center help them to promote and support sometimes. Most of the time, they are on their own.

ya, i understand that the might be "quality" issues with franchise programmes. but i’m willing to give it a shot, but just hoping that people who have sent their kids for their programmes at Goldhill Centre can share their experiences about the programmes offered. thanks.

          Hi

Am new to this forum. So pardon me if this question has been raised before.

I am wondering if any parents have heard about BrainFit Studio @ Goldhill Center and if they have tried any of their programs. any feedback?

Grateful for any information on this center.

          Thanks.

hi GabyEn, my son attended 60 sessions. previously, it’s pay for 40 sessions and get 20 sessions free. paid $4800 i think. now its much cheaper … $3000+ for 60 sessions.

my son played computer games and did some exercises there. not much improvement, not significant. but perhaps it’s because my son didnt really needed it in the first place and for the excercises, we did not practice at home. or perhaps i didnt send my son to the ‘right’ courses (the course that i sent him does not really address my concern).

however, i like the staff there for being professional & honest. they told me honestly where are the strengths and weaknesses of my boy. even highlighted that i may not see significant improvement as my boy is already rather intelligient. cant remember why i still send him even though the advisor highlighted this…

but i believe it is very individual. though my son didnt improve much, but i do believe Brainfit has helped other children.

              Hey Cookie

              Thanks for the feedback.

My son did their cognitive mapping and true to what we’ve know, they have correctly identified several areas of weaknesses. Pretty spot on with the assessment.

He’s just started with their SMART Listening program. We’ll have to see how he progresses from their.

                GabyEn and Cookie,

Can i know what kind of enrichment or training centre brainfit is? Is it a intelligent/brain development (aka left/right brain) training centre for normal kids or special needs children? How do their pgm work on a child?

                Tks

normal children or special needs children, all can attend.

different programmes for different areas. sorry, i'm not able to explain all. perhaps you can check their website or call them.

can consider sending your child for assessment to assess which areas are his strengths & weaknesses. when i sent my child for the assessment and signed up the course, the assessment fee of $300+ was 'waived'. that was when the fees were sky high ($4000+, almost 5k). now that it's much cheaper, i'm not sure of the fee structure, etc.

one of the 'course' is to 'train' the child to be more focused and improve his/her reactions.

                    Hi

Yes, both normal & special needs children can do the program.

Basically, the programs they are running are targeted at the 5 pillars of our brain - Auditory, Sensory, Emotion, Attention & memory & Visual. The principle is like exercises for the different parts of our brains. For instance, if we are physically weak, we wont be able to run the iron man, but if we train our bodies for strength, stamina, etc, then we could be fit to run the marathon.

So, if our brains are not fit, while we can still do all the normal tasks, our brain is not performing at its optimum level.

Take for instance my son, he is intelligent, but somehow, he is struggling like mad in school. He's P5 now, but he has been failing all his subjects. We tried dozens of tutors but no change. Thats why we decided to give Brainfit a try. The CogMap assessment has correctly identify some key areas of concerns which we saw manifested in him. eg; his listening skills, visual learning skills.

He's started SMART Listening & about half way thru it. So far, there appears to be some improvement. But we are waiting for another assessment at the end of his 20 sessions to have a more objective assessment.

What I like about the programs offered is that there is concrete test results to measure any changes.

If you want to find out more, I believe they have ongoing parent workshops held on Saturdays. Details you would have to check from their website for the next series of workshops.

I heard that there are some holiday programs coming up.

                    Cheers[/quote]

Heard they do some form of brain training also. But I understand that the assessment reports are more comprehensive & detailed at Brainfit.

Wonder has any other parents tried the one at Tampines?
