Hi XtremeMEE,
My form teacher was one of a kind (to us under her at least).
She was very fun, really cared about us, took us to Sunny bookshop,
Borders and Kino to expose us to a wide range of books. We had a
huge library of books in class for us to borrow books. She would
buy these books, tell us about a part of the story, make us
interested to read and also tell us how to take out phrases
from them to help in our writing. She really inspired me to
want to do well in all my subjects. Sorry if I am going off
track here as I know this thread is for the creative
writing book. But I must just say all this because she did
all that for us without expecting anything in return so now
I can give back to her in this way.
Can't agree more with you on the founder. :celebrate:
Upon Michteach's recommendations, I brought my kids down to TAS to look at their book selections. Boy, I am really impressed by the founder's unselfish nature. When she heard about my family's (then) possible overseas relocation, she shared generously with me the various books she found useful in working with her own students. These days, it's really rare to find someone, especially one in business, to share so readily on their resources and areas to look out for. As you have said it, she's really one of a kind.
Hi TAS (the Founder),
I'm not sure if you can still remember me, but all the same, I would like to say :thankyou: to your generous sharing. I learnt a lot from you on that Sunday afternoon. In fact, my husband was so impressed with you that he would not mind sending our kids to your centre in Yishun (if we were still in Singapore). (Oh yes, my son loves Bloods Ties & Girl Missing by Sophie Mckenzie and is requesting for The Medusa Project. :-))
Though my kids can't attend your courses at this moment, I have recommended your centre to my relatives. Their kids are now enjoying their learning journey at your centre greatly. For myself, I look forward to the day when my kids can learn under you. Keep up the good work!

I must add in something after seeing what others have said. My kids have been at tas for abt a year. And I really agree that the founder is very unselfish, when she found out my younger was failing chinese, she went around helping to look for a tutor. She also said she would ask her ex-colleagues for more ideas to help. Then for the recent oral psle exams, I heard from a friend that they gave extra free tuition to help the P6 kids. At times nearer the psle, they even had free extra eng, maths and sci tuition for the P6, my friend said the teacher mentioned that they would do it as long as they had a free room available but of course it is not a given that they can always do it. And not just is the founder like that, the other teachers are like that too. My older one did well for a class test and his teacher bought him a present just to encourage him. I never really talk abt this but I feel that I should because it is really hard to find teachers who genuinely care abt the children and will go the extra mile for them. TAS, keep it up!

Wow! Thank you everyone for sharing. I went down on Monday to their Bukit Timah branch to get the creative writing book. From the book, I can see they are very good. But now reading these posts, I realize they also have the character behind the skill. So sad my child cannot enjoy their class as the PSLE is just round the corner, wish I knew about them earlier.

Hi XtremeMEE,
Wow! I am really touched and amazed that you remember the things
we did as a class.
You have not changed, always giving to others. Jasmineong is right,
you have the brains but more importantly the heart to succeed in life :ugogirl: Do keep in touch

Hi chamonix,
Yes! I remember you, you came with your 2 children and your husband.
I am really speechless, thank you so much for your encouragement
and praise. I really did not do much but you make it sound like a great
deal! Really glad to know your relatives are enjoying their classes at TAS
as well, thank you for introducing them to us.
Your son has finished reading those books? He can really devour books!
If I remember correctly, he is only in P1?
I hope everything is well with your family and you. If you need any help
with resources, just let us know

Hi coolit,
Thanks!! You are really generous with your praise as well. Haha I feel
quite pai seh. It is like all of you are giving a testimonial
I hope your child's chinese is doing better and anyway as much as we
have helped, you have really gone the extra extra mile for your
child to give him the best in chinese and to help him do well.
