Lack of sleep, yes, esp in Sec school. Average is 5 to 6 hours on weekdays. When come to weekends, would sleep all the way to recover back. DD even told me, its such a luxury to be able to have enough long sleep and wake up naturally.

My dd takes less than 2 mins and off she goes, to find 周公. Very easy to fall asleep, regardless hectic or not hectic. I think she has my gene. 😄

my gal is just like yr gal....she can fall into slumberland quickly the moment she hits the bed 😉
her sleep pattern is also same as yr gal
when comes to weekend.....12 p.m is still consider \"early\" to wake her up...haha

recently...she told me..the first thing to do when holidays comes is to SLEEEEEEEP :snooze: till satisfaction 😉

She told me, the higher Sec you are, the lesser would be the sleeping hours. 😞

I read one news article, maybe about 1 or 2 months ago, there are many Uni students in Singapore, taking pills to keep them awake and sleep less. This is very bad ..... 😞

          I think the reason is b/c of the school hrs set by the MOE. I used to sleep at 10 and wake up at 6 when I was P5 but now it’s exam time, I get loads of h/w i end up sleeping 2.75 hrs less. knock on wood, even though I try to manage my time well. Sometimes I end up w/ headache, I had one right in the middle of a lesson on mon and I put my head down to rest, and guess what, I fell asleep, and when I woke up 1 minute later i was still having it, and it went on for 10 hours… )';

Sometimes we hv to tell the teachers that enough is enough. Doing another few pieces of exam papers at the expense of health is really not wise. I wld advise u attempt those qn that you are weakest at. Really not point doing from 1st page to last page.

All the best to your PSLE.

              yes...we, parents, know that...enough is enough....but
the teacher would not listen to the pupils, (maybe they have no choice too)
any unfinished HW would get reprimand the next day.....
or by standing up as a punishment during the class lessons
so the pupils would def try to finish their HW as much as possible

Yes, teachers can say "i didn’t mark your work b/c i’m tired" but we cannot say "i did not do my homework because it would be detrimental to my health"… infact I just finished my homewk a few hours ago… supplementary till 4… went home and got ready for music class… music class ended at 5.30, then met up with friends for my study group, after that, dinner till 7.30, then shower till 8, and when I finally start on my homework it’s 8.10… I finished composition at 9, then finished english paper at 9.45, then finished math paper at 10.45… I’m typing this on my iPhone which is crammed with study notes too… and I’m not feeling my best either.

                    Dear snowman.697

My heart aches as I read about your plight. I recall my son having PSLE last year, they gave so many practice papers to do. They gave supplementary classes if you are weak and enrichment classes if you are strong in the subjects. All the P6 kids were on overdrive. I remember I kept making ginseng tea for him to drink. Also gave him body massage to relief all the tension build up from the stress. iF you can, ask your mommy to do for you. It’ll help a lot, really.

Just hand in there, it’ll be over soon… All the best!

Hi snowman.697, bear with it for a while, its only this PSLE period. Once its over, you have 2 months to rest and play. Jia you, drink some tonic, have more sleep in the weekend, take Vit C. 😄

Last night, I chased my dd to sleep at 11pm. Yes, I know its exam period but sleep is still very important. Without good sleep, how to have a fresh mind to take the papers?

I can empathise with you. Last yr when my girl was taking PSLE, yes, she had tonnes of past yr papers to do. I stepped in to stop her from going to sch 2 days before PSLE, sms & write letter to form teacher (guarantee her that I took over the revision at home). She gave my girl model answer for the past yr papers so that I can revise with her at home.
