Watched about half of the programme… interesting and learnt quite a bit
but what struck us was how much it seemed like some PAP MP free commercial! so much air time for them leh!
someone commented, why they never invite mr low thia kiang to act in the skits? he also can speak mandarin well what?! each PAP MP was like in a few skits ad nauseum. free publicity. -

昨晚通过电视播出的第二届“华文？谁怕谁！”问答游戏大决赛终于分出高下。经过两小时的激烈对决后，原籍中国的新移民肖琦和学生组代表张童琳、赖昌耀勇闯三关，击败另外五名华文高手，分别夺得冠、亚军荣衔。
继去年首次推出并取得热烈反响后，“华文？谁怕谁！”今年增设学生组。德明政府中学的张童琳（14岁）和莱佛士书院的赖昌耀（14岁）先以高分通过网络作答回合，过后经主办单位面试，成为学生组的代表，联手在大决赛中“抗衡”成人玩家。
这两名土生土长的中学生在大决赛的表现可圈可点，不仅临危不乱还懂得善用“战术”。赖昌耀受访时解释，他们共同的目标是至少要进入第二回合，所以他们在第一回合走保险路线，使尽“王牌”支援。另外，两人也对准分数较弱的参赛者加以“陷害”，确保别人在他们之前先出局。
恶补本地历史
赖昌耀说：“我们在小学的时候不是没有接触本地历史，但课本都是英文的，所以参加华文问答游戏要恶补一下。其实，这里毕竟是自己的国家，即使没有特别的理由也应该主动对本土历史多做了解。”
张童琳有相同的看法。通过比赛，她对新加坡的历史有更深刻的了解。张童琳说：“比如说，我之前就不知道熟悉的乌节路以往竟是豆蔻园。”

无独有偶的是，来新超过十年的肖琦（40岁，移民顾问）在赛前的备战也主要围绕本地历史这一块。他表示，“华文？谁怕谁！”的文化类题目范围太广了，既然无从下手准备，还不如多花点时间多认识新加坡的历史。
肖琦去年便和儿子一起上网参加首届“华文？谁怕谁！”。他参赛的目的是希望通过这样的有趣游戏，和孩子一起学习，进一步激发孩子对母语的兴趣。肖琦觉得，除了能增长知识，“华文？谁怕谁！”也是促进移民融入本地社会的有效管道。
他说：“以前什么都不懂，人家问路也不知道街名是什么、街名背后的故事是什么。现在看到书中提到本地的古迹，会有共鸣，有时间还会去看看。”
三名受访者不但期盼“华文？谁怕谁！”能够继续主办，还希望未来有更多政治领袖能在大决赛中客串演出。在三人眼中，今年11位友情客串的部长、政务次长和国会议员当中，属人力部长颜金勇扮演的徐志摩最有“笑果”。总理公署部长林瑞生是大决赛嘉宾。
贸工部兼人力部政务部长李奕贤也在短片中高歌一曲《几多愁》。此外，被主持人描述为“十分娇羞”的议员杨莉明、一人分饰三角的马炎庆，以及张思乐（交通部兼社体部高级政务次长）的“搞笑版叶问”，都演技不俗，博得满堂的笑声与掌声，一改人们对部长议员的刻板严肃印象。
肖琦在比赛尾声凭关键的一题拔得头筹，赢取总值1万元的奖金奖品，张童琳和赖昌耀则共享总值7000元的奖金奖品。其余大决赛参赛者包括刘淑香、王雪丽、许子涵和沈佩玲。他们各获得一份优胜奖。另一方面，主办单位在赛后颁发“最高得分奖”给南侨中学、华侨中学和东源中学。“最踊跃参与奖”颁给南侨中学、南洋女子中学和圣公会中学。 -

the winner was PR from China... haiz. but quite impressed with the auntie that was in the final three. she looks like she used to be a laoshi or something.
and the two little kiddies not bad too. but the young laoshi a bit disappointing. -
