I realised its so hard to find a good piano teacher, i have been searching for one for many days and have sent out so many sms only to have been told they are all fully packed…and i realised violin teacher charges more expensive than a piano lesson. anybody know what’s the reason?? iszit because piano is a more common learning musical instructment?

I think generally there are more piano teachers as compared to violin teachers, that’s why some teachers, or so called "teachers" teach at a low price. Anyway, there are teachers, violin and piano who charge as much as $120 per lesson and no, that’s not for 2 hours, it’s only 45 mins.

            Hi, parents.

Any recommendation for a good home piano teacher who can interact well with children? Chemistry between teacher and children very important.

            Many thanks!

            Hi,

Have you found any teacher yet?
If have, care to recommend too?

            Thanks,

            Hi, Happymom.

I'm still looking around for one, sigh........... currently my ds is still having his private lesson at Mandeville, seem enjoying but will still prefer a home teacher. Will keep you posted should I find a good one.

            God Bless

Is it a common practise for piano teacher to collect advance payment?

Advance, as in…? Generally teachers collect fees at the beginning of the month. But you’re saying Jan collecting Feb fees then that’s not a norm. Music schools however practice collecting per term though some give the option of monthly payments too.

Ya, collecting at the beginning of the month eg 1st Jan collecting for the whole mth of Jan. I understand that is common in schools but I don’t suppose for home teaching right? As in come to my house to teach. I may be wrong…

That’s normal. Generally private teachers collect monthly at the beginning of the month.
