Reward after Exam

We do not practise giving gifts for any performance in exams, academic or otherwise. The recognition is in the result itself
The thrill and satisfaction comes from attaining his / her personal target. The most we do is go out for a meal.
A few years ago we were at a resort in Europe and DS asked whether we get to go back to the same resort if he achieves his target in PSLE. We agreed but lately he said it is a waste of money to go back to the same place. Phew ! -

No promise of rewards. I believe it's her duty to study. Just like daddy's duty to bring home bacon. She has the easiest task in our household, so no room for complaint.
So how will you reward your kids after exam?
Okie okie, having say that, this mean mummy did bring her out for dinner on the last day of exam and buy her a whole lot of new storybooks to celebrate 'good bye homework, hello summer'.
To top it up, a special priviledge, I allowed her to spend all her free time after exam on her favourite hobby - reading

My DD also love reading. We are trying to get her to prep for exam and read less. She consumed \"12 books\" last month in the midst of busy preparing for her exam.
At that rate, if I buy all the storybook .. will go broke soon :torchme:
Fortunately, there are libraries ... friends and relatives ... :celebrate: -

In fact, before exam fever begins... i will bring them out for a nice meal.
Recently, we went Swensens & i said... \"Let's all chill before exam fever
strikes, aye girls?\" My girls said, \"Yeah... you're right mum! Thanks!\" No

But not on the note that it IS a reward for results attained.
Psst... sleepy... my DD2 will be the one saying... \"Don't buy me
anything. I like studying and it is my responsibility to study. So,
my results is my reward.\"

Like others, we too may occasionally go for a trip.
But not in any relation to results, more for year-end
family treat & time to unwind after a whole year's work. -

We plan to do thigns after the exam (likes going hi-tea, shopping, etc) as rewards and somethings to look forward. We dont wait for result then reward but if we see that DDs are already putting loads of effort to prepare for the exam, we will reward them regarding of the result.

I do not know if anyone misunderstood me. Just to clarify.
I am encouraging parents not to reward based on performance but rather their love for their kids.
So give away rewards/gifts ... intangible gifts included
