Hi singapore45,
Hi TAS,
How about starting more classes at the east branch? Do you plan to do so?
Yes we do plan to do so but not for these few months, we might
only start new classes by end November or early next year.

Hi isabella.zola,Hi TAS,
Hope you dont mind me 'hounding' you but I left you a message at the marketplace section or thread? I know a lot of people have been asking you questions but hope you could help answer my question about a book suitable for k1/k2 kids. Thank you very much. And thank you for always sharing your tips with us parents on the forum. :celebrate:
(sorry, i realise I left you a lot of messages..just hoping for some help here for my child,
)
No problem, we are not doing any book for preschool kids at the moment.
If we do, we will post up the information at the Marketplace thread.

TAS, thank you for the book, it is not just 'technical' as in we can learn the techniques but it is also full of very good examples that we can use to teach our children. I also sent my child for a trial lesson after getting the book and he really loved it. Class timing clashes with his other classes though but I am seeing what can be done. I must get him into your classes.
Hi jeestan,
Thanks for the feedback, hope to see your child in our classes one day.

I am so :x I heard from my child that another school’s hod went to copy parts of the book and put it as her own schools worksheets! My child’s tuition mates were all complaining about it, then when they told the hod that it was their work and it was a book by TAS, she just brushed their comments aside. Then within the next few days, another teacher came to tell them that it was ok, anyway it was written by them so it belonged to the school!! When one kid said there were also other extracts in the worksheet given by the hod that were not written by anyone from that particular school, the teacher also brushed the comments aside. My kid is not from tt school but when she came home to tell me that her friends were talking about it after the tuition, I was so mad.
I mean I know, many people may not follow the copyright laws strictly but how can a hod and teachers of a school retype works from another book and pass it off as their own and then try to explain it away by saying it belongs to them anyway! Anyway I am glad my child is not in that school!
I dont mean to bad mouth a school, I just was so mad about it and when I asked TAS about it, they said they knew about it and they are trying to do something about it but they also do not want to make it into a big thing and get the teacher into trouble. But I was really angry because I never expect a school to behave in this way. A rival tuition centre maybe but not a school. I am not interested to bad mouth anyone so I do not wish to name the school. I just want to understand why pple behave like that and also to let off steam. I am not sure if this is the right channel. Sorry administrators of ksp if what I am doing is wrong, you can redirect my post anywhere you feel is apt. -
Hi TAS,
I have pmed you about our order, yeah, finally got 40 copies…pant…pant.
Coolit,
I think a lot of hods and teachers just photocopy from assessment books but this is the first time I heard of teachers retyping and trying to pass it off as their own…really jia lat! -
Aiyoooo!! But actually I am not very surprised because really I find the stds of some teachers questionable…anyway if they are good, they would not need to retype something from another book as theirs. But the values that they are imparting to the kids is bad, showing the kids that you do not have to follow any copyright laws and can just try to explain things away…

hi coolit,
That’s quite sad really. Thanks for highlighting - I’m guessing you’re not a teacher in TAS. I thought in education circles such action = plagiarism if proper credit wasn’t given.
Gosh, it must be embarrassing for the hod and teachers to be found out like that. And to think they even have the guts to try. Shake head. -

Actually I dont think it is fair to say that a lot of teachers photocopy from assessment books, we do take the copyright laws quite seriously. I think most teachers use the school worksheets which are produced by the school if they do use outside sources, they would usually quote it or adapt the questions. I think it is just a few bad hats that give us a bad name. -

I don't know what to say, my child's school teachers also do not even photocopy from assessment books. So to me, this was the ultimate when I heard it.
