On the eve of PSLE exam, I got another kind of 'excitement' to share. Just received a letter from PH. DS is placed in 1 Loyalty. I remembered donkey yrs ago on my first day of P1, my dad was grinning from ear to ear as he was carrying my school bag to the car. So proud he was that his son was going pri sch. Now it's my turn. Sob! sob! Getting too emo liao.
A few simple queries.
a) Do they allocate students from the same registration phase (eg 2A, 2B etc) into the same class?
b) DS's house is Luke. What is this house thingy about? Is it similar in concept to Harry Porter stories such as gryffindor or ravenclaw?
c) How many sets of uniform & PE attire is enough? Is 5 sets too much? Letter said recommendation is 3 uniform & 2 PE attire. My part-time helper will only come on Sun to iron the clothes. I'm too lazy to do any ironing during mid-week. I very much prefer to see ds in crisp and clean attire, the way my mum used to make sure for me during my time.
d) What are the name tags for?
Wonder if ds's kindy classmates are in the same class too? So exciting

I'm also thinking how allocation is done, even though daughter isn't in Pei Hwa. Is allocation done based on Phase 1 (30), the overflow goes into 2nd class etc etc.
b) DS's house is Luke. What is this house thingy about?
Honestly, this 'house' thing is no big deal.

My son has 3 days of PE in lower primary, wearing only the shirt/pants twice a week. If you don't have time to iron, then maybe get 4 white shirts.
d) What are the name tags for? Identification purposes. -

Thanks Janet for the info. Think I'll get 3 sets of uniform in this case.markfch:

My advice is to get 3 sets of PE attire as well. In P1 sometimes they have 3 PE days per week. Besides, if the uniform runs out, you can still wear PE attire to school even if no PE, but not vice versa if you have PE.On the eve of PSLE exam, I got another kind of 'excitement' to share. Day 1 of the Pri 1 - before leaving home, make sure get up super early, dress up the boy in his brand new & crisp school uniform, name tag on, and take a family portrait, and his personal portrait
that will be super memorable, it will be the wall paper for your mobile phone and computers (home & work) -
Will there be an additional component ε―Ήθ― for upper primary 5/6?[/quote]
Hi E3
For upper pri P5/6, there will be conversation for both chinese and english oral.

Good idea, this is one for the memories. But since nobody in my family likes to wake up super early, most likely will take picture the night before.
