      Sun_2010:
Anyone who has taken Chinese as 3rd language? i think its called the CPS- Chinese (Special Programme)?

      :?:
      Needed some advice:

      Is it taught in school?
How difficult is it? On estimation is it possible to pick up for a total begginer?

DD did take Mandarin in her Kindergarten and used to pick up quite well but that was then. Now all she remembers is what to say in Chinese for - \"Teacher can i go to toilet\" :stupid:

Would it be a wise thing to ask her to choose this one? I feel even for a year or two if she manages to put in the effort she can pick up good conversational skills...And it will be a life skill .
CSP is taught in some schools. Those that don't offer it have to take it at the MOE centres.

I think it's a good idea to take up CSP. Mandarin is a useful language to know in Asia. Furthermore, if your child qualifies for JC, he can get 2 bonus points in his application for JC. Plus he can use his grade for CSP in lieu of a Humanities subject.

Thanks jtoh, lot of parental learning .

Hope DD listens to me but she has a mind that is of opposite polarity to mine, sigh!

She has an apptitude for language but not the interest, so lets see.

it appears that the ghim moh one is moving, as it states that 285 Ghim Moh Road under the title \"holding site\" and next to it is \"final location wef Jul 2011\" at 25 Peck Hay Road

Should be that one, since that site is the ex-Ghim moh Primary school.
                    Sigh!

How many of your children are still taking 3rd language at the end of Year 1? I know a lot of kids have dropped it already.

Though i basically failed everything, i'm still doing
