You mean the teachers stayed up all night checking their email? This is the new benchmark. I am very impressed. The PSLE may be just half way through
7. Email and sms support by teachers 24/7 in case any questions need to be clarified -

Stay up all nite or not I won't know ..... They do email out ppt quite late for the reminder points - may be due to late request lah (student slacking)

Hi vk2010,
What you post earlier about NYPS teachers was indeed very encouraging! Do you know if this is true for all classes/levels? I heard from parents that there are usually 2-3 top classes every year from p3 onwards. I also heard from parents of other schools saying that children in top classes are treated differently (eg more challenging work) than the others. Is this true for NYPS too? One parent told me it is very important to do well in P2 exams cosโ children will be "streamed" according to their results for P3 class. Not sure how much to "stress" my poor kid!! -

you are right about your observations, not only in NYPS,but other schools tooHi vk2010,

not that they are treated differently due to ability per se, there is no favoritism. which principal does not wish every one in the cohort to excel ?
it is usually because the weaker classes are not able to cope with so much depth or such pace of learning, and hence the priority is to complete the syllabus, revise as much as possible
it is natural that parents want their kids to get into the top class, hence the competition
it is generally observed that if up to P2 level and still weak in math, the child may be likely to struggle to reach the top in math in later years - not that they are not good, don't be mistaken. enough of practice should still see them get an A
not sure how they stream the kids these days. my DS time his P1 friends were all distributed, then P2 friends also distributed, then same for P3...but P4 to 6 remain the same
