      Hello Winniel,

Have you tried DownTown East (Cristofori) or White Sand (Seimpi)?

What day and time are you looking at?

        Hello Peanut,

No, I’ve not tried them, as my son’s already in Yamaha Tampines for these past 4 months.

Initially, I’ve terminated his lesson, & will be doing his last month there. However, his interest seems to have picked up lately, thus I decided to just continue on for the time being & asked to be put on waiting list for other time slots.

I’m looking at around 6pm weekdays, or Saturday mornings actually.

Are you familiar with Cristofori & Seimpi?

How are their charges & teachers?

There are a few foreign music graduates/performers in Cristofori, DownTown East. Cristofori hires lots of non-locals. Since they are on contract, students may or may not be studying from the same teacher for long term. Fee start from $75 per half hour. Seimpi focuses on group lessons for very young kids. They do offer individual lessons in Funan IT mall. I am not sure about White Sand. I think if their teachers do both group lessons and individuals, they may be good at dealing/clicking with kids.

Generally, most studios are packed on Saturday mornings. You may like to try Christofori Tampines if you have no luck with the 2 schools.
I am also available on Wednesday early evenings for home tutoring. 😎 But not at 6pm.

          All the best!

              hi again Peanut & Cholevv,

Thank you for the info & offers. I just continued my son's lesson at Yamaha Tampines, so we'll see how he goes along there for the time being.

I'll keep both of u in mind if I really need to change this arrangement again 🙂

              Best regards!
              Winniel

Private teacher you can choose who you go to - choose male, female; choose ex or cheap; experience, not so experience etc, in music schools teachers are allocated to you. Generally in music schools, the child gets chances to perform, whether in a group or as an individual though some private teachers are in-corporating this into their teaching as well, for example, performing in front of fellow students.

Fees wise, on the whole, music schools are a tad cheaper. Having said that, private teachers have a wide spectrum of very high fees (like $120 per HOUR) to extremely low fees ($100 per MONTH). Yes, even for beginners.

My 4 years old son is attending a 1 to 1 piano lesson at Ballet & Music in Choa Chu Kang. He already know the piano keys and able to play Mary had a Little Lamb with right hand just after 4 lessons. :celebrate:
