Hi Jennifer,
I think as long as the shoes are white...including the Adidas 3 stripes
...they should pose no problems. I've had enough of those days wearing only Bata. -
Hi Mummies
the online book purchase isn’t working properly. They said to try after 3pm. -

Heard that 3 weeks ago, they were busy coaching Maths in CH3.
Any idea how many CH3 pupils passed the screening test?
My boy's FT carried out lessons as usual. Only 3 pupils in the class are going for the selection test next week.
7 pupils in Ho3 will go for the next round of test. Heard that top2 classes of Nan Hua , 50 pupils were selected for the next round. -
Hi
Has anyone tried the Han Language centre Compre and compo Course? Is it any good? My girl is not so good at chinese compre as she can’t understand what is the passage all abt so thinking of giving her some booster.
Or any other recommendation?

There will be open-ended compre from p2 onwards.
BTW, when do they start doing chinese compo in primary school?
Hi ruaqt2,
In PH, the P2 will have 看图写话 in which the child will write a paragraph based on the given pic. The min is 40 chars (excluding punctuation) but it is not enough to write a good story in just 40 char. The advise from my dd's CL teacher is to write at least 150 chars. The time duration is 1h 20 mins for SA1 pp1 (total 20m) which also includes 5 questions of sentence-making. The duration for SA2 pp1 is reduced to 1h with the same two components being assessed. For P3/4, it will be 作文 with proper paragraphing to be done in 40 mins.
I am not sure whether it will also be 40min for p5/6 HCL/CL pp1. Maybe the p5/6 parents can clarify. Thanks. -

Hi E3
Different school but CL P1 format for P5/P6 should be the same as they will be taking the PSLE together unless there are changes by MOE on the requirement:
CL - 50 minutes with 100 words or above
HCL - 50 minutes with 150 words or above
Hope the above information useful
Thank you. -
Hi Mummies,
Just to enquire what’s your take on continuing with HCL at P5 ?
What’s the overall marks that the child must get to continue taking HCL ? I’m still thinking if my son should continue. -
Brenda10:
Thank you for clarifying, Brenda10, that was what I had vaguely remembered, just need confirmation.E3:

You're welcome.
You dd teacher is in the right track to train them at their level to write more than the requirement.

Hi Janet...my 2 cents...It all depends on how strong he is in the language at current. It will help if he is aiming for SAP/IP sec. Also, since HCL is taught during curriculum time, then it shouldn't affect his revision time for his other subjects. However, it doesn't mean that without HCL, the kid will not be accepted in SAP sec. Ultimately, the PSLE score will determine the Sec. your ds will attend.Hi Mummies,
Just to enquire what's your take on continuing with HCL at P5 ?
What's the overall marks that the child must get to continue taking HCL ? I'm still thinking if my son should continue.
The best person to advise should be your ds's CL teacher, as she will know whether he can cope with HCL based on his current standard.
