I also agree. As compare with her classmates in ex school (P2-mixed abilities) and in PH (Gr2) last year, I did see significant differences, in term of diligence, maturity and obedience. But, well, to her, I just tell her to try her best, the rest, let God plan.
True. A lot of movement for lower primary but IMO, better to get into the better classes the earlier the better... to be more secure...近朱者赤近墨者黑
Another I heard, not verified tho, that the teachers for the better abilities classes are usually more responsible, starting from P2.

Hi E3,
I would love to see my son in Charity, Faith or Grace but he’s not a top flyer. The environment in these classes would definitely be very much better than his present one now. I totally agree with this 近朱者赤近墨者黑. -
Heard that 3 weeks ago, they were busy coaching Maths in CH3.
Any idea how many CH3 pupils passed the screening test?
My boy's FT carried out lessons as usual. Only 3 pupils in the class are going for the selection test next week.
7 pupils in Ho3 will go for the next round of test. Heard that top2 classes of Nan Hua , 50 pupils were selected for the next round.
I heard that 3/4 of CH3 are going for the selection test. :!:
Wonder how many in FA3 are going ? -

Janet, I was generalising when I said that. There are values in which a child can learn in every class, such as humility, loyalty, generosity, friendliness, optimism and persistence. If a child is right in his/her values, but not academically strong, he/she can still influence others positively, no matter which class the child is in. It is harder to let kids from top classes feel a sense of belonging and compassion. I know some high-flyers who are emotionally-detached, they cannot see beyond their noses. They mellowed only after they are humbled.Hi E3,

I was an educator and a very kiasu mother, so naturally I want my dd to excel academically and she has to put in her best. However, the better she gets, the harder for me to let her understand certain values in life. It's a challenge for me sometimes.
All our kids still have a long way to go. They reap what they sow but as long as they are happy and live a full life, then it doesn't really matter which class they were in at primary school. Nobody will remember or bother. So, take heart!

Hi E3,
I understand what you mean. No worries
Kids in the top classes have to endure keen competition...very stressful indeed. I would like to run alongside with my son, but he's still immature and I'm getting rather tired
waiting for him to mature mentally to want to do well. In the meantime, I've got to nag and remind him that SA2 is VERY near. -

My P3 boy was enrolled in Hans P3 Compo & Compreh since the start of this year. We stopped after term 2. IMO Hans std is below PH std, hence we did not see much improvement in the SA1 results.Has anyone tried the Han Language centre Compre and compo Course? Is it any good? My girl is not so good at chinese compre as she can't understand what is the passage all abt so thinking of giving her some booster.
Or any other recommendation?
Now he is attending Hua Cheng (the same as my elder boy). Reason why he was not put in Hua Cheng earlier was there was no other pupil to start a class.
His weekly tingxie has improved greatly. Almost all correct ans for the fill in the blanks section.
