PSLE result has to be collected personally or a proxy. no sms

S1 posting got sms notification option

If your kids are top scorers, you will receive phone call from principal in the morning
      Thanks for ur info.

Btw, do you think is better for us to go with our DD/DS to collect the PSLE result?

      :?

Yes, I do. To give them moral support in case they don't do as well as expect, and to share their joy if they do well.

whatever is the result, parents should go, and be proud of their achievement

imagine, your dd/ds' friends all have parents there to hug them etc etc and your dd/ds is alone .... so poor thing, right ?

I witnessed a poor girl crying her heart out after collecting her PSLE results and her parents weren't there to support her. It was heart wrenching. Her friends did their best to comfort her but she still has to make her way home alone.

And my friend told me she kept a close eye on her dd after she received her results because she was afraid she would do something silly if she didn't do well.

There is one more reason why the parent must go with DS or DD to collect the PSLE result:

‘The PSLE result does not belong to the student alone. Good result or bad result, the parent has a definite share and role in it. Because in many ways, the parent has helped the child to achieve or failed to help the child to score high. If so, why let the child face it all alone? In my view, it is not fair. Because PSLE is a team-effort of the child and parent.’

I am sure many Kiasu Parents would agree.

                Yes. I agree.

We always tell dd that's work together. She is in the front line and we are her 军师.

Yes, parents should go. I still remember, my mum even turned up at my school when I collected my 'O'level results more than 20 years back! 🙂

now is the time to tell the child whatever was done could not be undone

make the best of what is revealed on 25 Nov and move on, and work harder for the next 4 to 6 years, regardless of results, be it national top scorer or could not get in that most ideal school, life goes on and there are many more opportunities to be realised and seized upon

even if the child did not put in best effort, it is a teaching point that upon moving on, whatever one is doing, whether a student or working adult, we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to put in the best effort

parents should be around to provide the emo support as well as to share their joy of triumph

Of Course, PSLE performance is a team effort of the Student, Teacher(s), (inclu. Tutors) and Parents (+ God for those who believe ) 😉

Hope to see more or all 😄 faces around this year when the PSLE results are announced!!!
All the best for PSLE 2010! Keep 🙏

Yes, it is a team effort. If she does well, you are not there, still not so bad. But IF she does badly and you are not there, quite scary. I really want to be there. My DH also taking leave.
