For lunch, I usually make a soup and dump all in in - so got soup, meat and vege and steam a rice. Without the kids at home, house is tidier and cleaner. On days when I am busy with housework or planning some work for son, will 打包 lunch.

As for dinners, we go to mum's place. Apart from laundry, washing loos and other miscellaneous, I will not clean windows.

Next year when both kids are in morning session, I will probably be doing the same thing. 🙏

I get my child to help with the hsework. And believe me....he actually enjoys doing it. He now understands that hse work is tough and tries to keep his things clean tidy. So that lessen my work load. 😉 Besides hubby help out 2. And we try to do our hsework as a family 2gether. I vacumm & clean the toilets, hubby mops the whole house, out little one wil clean the gate, doors and also water the plants.
That's great! My hubby helps out too, sometimes wash dishes, mop floor and do some gardening.

I also want my boy to help out when he's older. He's only 2 now but we get him to do some things, like throw paper into the recycling bin, pack up his toys after playing, bring cups (the plastic ones only) into the kitchen for us to wash. He enjoys it too!

But for now, most of the housework we rely on part time cleaner. We're always so tired after work and we don't want to spend wkends doing housework. But we only get cleaner to come in once a week, as it's not cheap. So I'm thinking of buying the floor wiper and mop set as I find once a week not enough, as we also have a dog. Need to keep the house cleaner!

Without a maid, we enjoy the freedom of not having a stranger in the house and also the freedom of leaving our belongings anywhere w/out worrying if they will end up in someone’s pockets.

The best part is saving a lump sum of money…no need to pay salary to someone who shows black face, see doctor, pay levy to Govt for not doing anything to help employers…and also don’t have to worry being murdered.

I always remembered this is what i told hub the last time i have a maid, \" Its either she go or she get murdered\"

But i can totally understand how u feel. When the maid was totally out of whack, whenever hub needs to be outstationed, i'll gather all the kids in my bedroom at night, locked the room and sleep together. It was just pure crazy, prisoner in my own home.

Now the home has become a tornado-just-strike zone. But at least it is one that no one lives in fear.

                Hi b2b3m4,

It's a very scary feeling having a maid...esp when she looked like a zombie at times and we don't know what was going on in her brain. :nailbite:
Hubby was also worried the maid will drive me up the wall then and I'll appear in the front page of Straits Times for maid abuse. 😛

                  But at least now you're stress-free, maid-wise anyways 😄

i used to tell DH, cant live with the maid & yet cant live without one. we went thru 5 maids since DS was born. the last one was the most problematic one & i get so frustrated to see house not taken care when i come home & she was v forgetful. FIL caught her watching porn on a HP given by another maid! who knows maybe fr her BF!

we sent her home after 9 mths when her loan was fully settled. she was most happy to go home.

like you, we enjoy more flexibility & happier even though we have to do the hse work ourselves with DS 😄

After 4 maids and all the problems they gave, I told hubby NO MORE MAIDS. Even my kids said, 'No pets, No maids in the house'. Daughter said, 'if you get a maid, she sleeps in the kitchen, not my room'.

We were so happy to send off the maid when younger one turned 4...although tough doing housework, but had mental torture having a maid. Hubby's pay never increased, but maid's pay had increment. :moneyflies:
