      php:

School library does carry some comics too.....Tin Tin is very popular....I did my PV in the library, so managed to learn something there....
IIRC, Tin Tin was written at the time whereby what was deemed as politically correct was very different from what is it today. At least this is what I remembered. Hence it is one of the books I'll discourage ds from reading.

Oh now I got it, edn stands for edition. I actually bought the simplified version of 水滸傳 & 三國演義. They are sitting pretty at ds's bookshelf. Simplified but still too challenging for me to read  . A few hundred pages of small characters with no pictures.

Just took another look at those books on the shelf. I remembered wrongly. Mine actually have lots of colourful pictures & hanyu pinyin. Not too bad. So perhaps even I start reading them first 😄

Good  . After that, you can try engaging your ds's interest.

            Hi parents,

I thought this is quite interesting. My dd brought home a colouring contest from school whereby she is supposed to colour the picture as well as give a feminine name to the Tunnel Boring Machine which will be involved in the construction of the MRT near PHPPS. The winner will have the suggested name printed onto the machine.

returned by the teachers at school?

In the past, I only zero in those qns which my boy has given a wrong ans.

Ytd, my boy brou home a mock paper and some other practice papers for EL. To my horror, some "correct" ones were marked wrong and some "wrong" ones were marked correct.

Another mom has told me the same thing, her child is already struggling with Maths, and yet some right answers are marked as wrong. Confused the child even more. I only come across once for my child's work. Recent markings on past year maths paper, one correct answer of hers was marked wrong and I sms tr right away. She provided the correct answer almost next min or so. I certainly hope the exam papers will not be marked with such care(less) or the lack of it.

                  Jennifer,

I go through all the answers for mock papers as well as any other practice paper/assessment book with son…reason is some of the MCQs could be correct by chance. Now I go through all the questions with him.

I assume this question is meant for me? Yes, the colouring contest is assigned by CL-Art teacher so she'll collect them back and possibly follow up with it.

Jennifer, I hope you can reconsider letting your ds go back to check his exam papers (just in case), some irresponsible kid might not do a proper job, especially if he/she is the \"easily confused\" sort.

My dd got that too. Nice to know that SMRT is educating the schools on Safety.
