My recommendation is to look for ‘‘Eu Ren Sheng’’ Senior Physicians. Many of them are good & experienced. Just pay few dollars more for consultation, as compared to seeing normal physicians. Medicine fees are the same for seeing physicians & senior physicians.

          Hi,

My son is seeing a TCM dr at Chong Hua Hospital. He was given the black liquid, which i need to steam to evaporate the alcohol content, for his cough.

I am having difficulting getting him to drink 10ml of it at one go. My mom and maid normally have to restrain him and force it down his throat. Needless to say, there is much struggle and tears..I was thinking this can't go on 3x daily everyday!?

Any one has good ideas on how to get kids to swallow TCM meds without needing to resort to force?

          Pls share. Thanks.
Totally understand what you mean. My son went to a famous TCM physician Zhang Lei at People's Park for his cough and was prescribed a nasty black powder that could not be dissolved in water. It was so bitter and I had to serve it in a spoonful of honey. I was amazed at how my son could swallow it. Bravo...

I always get ready a fruity gum or tic tac for him to take right after the bitter medication. I know sugar is not good but we really have no other choice. Choose the sweet with the least sugar content.

I still depend on western medicines unless the cough drags for >a month.

              Hi all,

Seems like everyone here is looking for TCM for children. I have one to recommend.

Yu Guo Chinese Physician Acupunture & Physiotherapy Pte Ltd

              Address: 8B Jalan Masjid,
              #01-04, Kingston Terrace
              Singapore 418929
              Opening Hours : Mon - Tue : 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
              2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
              6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

              Sun : 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

              Wed/Pub : Closed

Please call them and check the operation time, my children have graduated so I have lost touch!

Be prepared and patient, they are always very crowded on weekend. This clinic is run by a couple. Wife (Xu yishi) treats children and husband (Chen yishi) treats adults. So try to go down on weekday. Please call to see if Xu yishi is around.

The treatment process is very simple: tuina. Most of the tuina shi have been there for quite long. If you want to speed up the process then go along with some prescription.

Another tips for nose or respiratory problems (my personal opinion):
              1) relocate to places like U.K, so no more problems; or
              2) take Korean gaoli rensheng powder.

              Good Luck to all!

The Chinese physician from Eu Yan Sang at Rivervale Mall is pretty popular. She was on TV programme (about Health related, TCM) a few times too…

For women’s menstruation, try Liu Yishi 刘医师 90038258. You have to be patient tho cos it does take a while to regulate if its irregular. She’s a qualified western doctor from Taiwan who trained in tcm in China so you get the best of both worlds even if she does not practise western medicine here. She also treats kids with appetite problems n other ailments in general.
