besides him, there were also a few scholars in my class....too bad i was the next in line and i missed it....anyway, majority in my class did well. but i learnt a good lesson...you don't have to do well academically in order to do well in life....My friends and I (those non-scholars) are in retiring mode now but those scholars are still working very hard...haha...out of 40 students, slightly less than 30 of them are still in contact including a few of our teachers....can't imagine it, we knew each other since the 70s.

Mine spent her first 1.5 years of primary school life in BTPS. The maths and EL standards are comparable, if not, slightly harder than PH. EL oral in P1 consisted of reading, pic discussion as well as free questioning. They had very regular topical reviews (tests) on all subjects, hence, I could keep very close track of her progress, specifically by topics. By P2, her then FT hand picked few potential kids from the class to attend his 'special' maths lesson to train on 'out-of-text' questions (I suspect these are olympaid). Mine was not selected in this 'grooming' class. After SA1, all these 'special-trained' students topped the class, with mine, a black horse, came in 2nd in class. :lol: The only subject I was not quite happy about was its CL. I remember her P1 CL teacher gave out a set of material with countless mistakes. I was so taken back that I took the entire set, vetted and sent back to its HOD almost immediately. :lol:


The Indian ex-principal, whom I could not recall his name, had done quite alot to move the school to where it is now.

Actually most of the kids in schools with gifted classes are from Pei Hwa...a friend told me that. That's why PH principal is annoyed that she faces a brain drain at the end of P3 every year.
