Depends on where you are staying? Cos itβs walking distance from my mumβs condo.
From Bukit Bintang area, we normally take cab, go by meter. Around RM12 if no jam. -
We will be staying at the Le Meridian hotel located at Jalan Bangsar. From my map, I see that it is quite close to the Sentral station.
-
From what I recall, there's no train station nearby? It's like near the expressway.

Thanks. I shall enquire at the hotel for transport there.

Is there any good hotel that you would recommend for KL area? You seem to know that area well
I was thinking of traders hotel but is it near a lot of attractions for kids?

Have stayed there 2x and going again this year end.
I like it cos it is big and the 4 of us can stay comfortably.
And it's location is very convenient.
Also it is very tall and if you are lucky, you may get the view of the KL twin tower! -

For cheap hotel near shopping area, we used to stay at Hotel Fortuna (it's located in a small lane at Bukit Bintang area). It's walking distance to shopping and all the food. If I recall correctly, it's 3-4 star. It has a Arab restaurant at the lobby (the food there is fantastic, so is the ambience). Quite safe to leave your car parked there. My dad used to do that all the time when we drove up.
My cousins did recommend Berjaya Times Square before (she went there with her ILs and her entire brood of 4 kids). Based on what my nephews told me, they enjoyed their stay there.
In KL, take cab BY METER. If they refuse to do so, don't board the cab. If after you board the cab and they refuse to on the meter, get off. If you've reached your destination and they insist that you pay more than the meter fare, call police (or call for help from the security of the mall/hotel if you are dropping off at shopping mall/hotel).
A must go: MID VALLEY MEGA MALL. I love that place (so does my boy).
The Penang food at Centre Court 2nd Level is sedap!
Thinking about it makes me crave for Penang Laksa....... -
my dd loves art and craft.
it will be great if you could recommend a place for kids to learn Batik painting etc.
Also, would you recommend getting electronic appliances from KL?
wonder what people usually buy from KL⦠-
Usually we shop for:
1. Kid's clothes - cheap!
2. Accesories for ladies - large variety
3. Men's clothing - cheap and large variety at Jusco and Metro
4. Toys for kids
5. MAKAN!
6. Misc stuff like watch, contact lenses (super cheap), bags, shoes, etc
We go there mostly for the food than shopping

Usually we purchase coupon for the trip which is available outside big hotels/ shopping centres.
