Agreed 100% totally. My MIL would talk non-stop in front of my mother leaving my poor mother with no peace at all.

My MIL would come to MY house (my parents stay with me) and 'thank them for taking care of this and that for them:x …really mean. My mum especially would feel so upset after their visit…

Now I try not to let them meet up at all…
We’ve moved to our current place for two years liao and DH didn’t even ask them to drop by…

My MIL would yak nonsense infront of my mum. When my mum wanted to talk with me, MIL would yak non-stop again. Very irritating. If I am talking to dd, she would interupt by answering on his behalf. I have to tell her that it is none of her business that I want to talk to my dd. Worse still, she acted like as though she is boss of house.

There is absolutely NO reason why any mum has to cook anything for her 亲家 to eat…mum has to do marketing, prepare, cook and clean up. How come the MIL can have it easy by just opening her mouth and eat without having to do anything ?

all these not so nice mils, well, are they

a) the highly educated type with a good job

b) the highly educated type but sahm

c) the "o" level, "a" level, etc with a good job

d) the "o", "a" level etc but sahm

f) from rich family so that’s why so nasty to others

i notice that some of my friends’ mils who are considered highly educated (well in their era esp those who speak english) tend to be a bit more snobbish.
