hi ABCDE,ABCDE:
Hi K parents and friends,
I'm a student in P6 this year. My parents didnot get entry to the open house which was held earlier as they(NJC) said all timing \"FULL\".
So, can any K.parent or friends enlighten me on what was highlighted during the speech. Would like to know on the Boarding fee and CCA we have to choose..Is it 1 or 2 ?.
I read first 6 pages here..n i'm finding exhausted to go thru till 206.So, can anyone give me an idea of NJC academic ,boarding and CCA details?
Thanks in advance.
here's a small nutshell.
Boarding fee - about $175 per term - one term/year from year 1 - 4
2 students to a room, bfast/dinner/laundry/supper.
School fees - standard govt rates, abt $20/month all in.
CCA - during year 1, there is no fixed CCA. there is something called CAFE, where you get to try out 3 or 4 different CCA without having to sign up \"permanently\". there are no uniform groups in NJC.
students are required to choose 1 \"niche\" CCA from year 2 onwards, and are also encouraged to take up a 2nd optional CCA.
Academic - please check this out - http://www.njc.edu.sg/integrated_curriculum.htm
class size is about 25. there are 3-4 girls to 1 boy
based on my DD year 1 experience, the first term is quite a honeymoon.
She woke up some time around mid-year, get the idea?
the good thing is, you'd probably be surrounded by really nice and fun buddies to study with after waking up.
there is no \"exam\" in year 1, but don't be \"cheated\" by that, there are plenty reasons around to make you study!

then my son got sick and so nice of the teachers - sent him back home to our doctor. That's why my son is at home, but he quite unhappy about not being in camp lah. -
