I'm just speculating - perhaps she has Claustrophobia? Then the fear of being trapped in 'enclosed' space would be very real to her. Otherwise why would she had panicked and acted against better judgement?
Can't be.. if she is, she will never go into the ventilator

        KSI, were you a teacher?

I've worked in coporate world before and honestly, the level of politics in teaching is on par, or even worse than the corporate world. It's not just a case of politics amongst the staff but there's 'politics' with the kiddos too!

As long as there are humans there, there will be politics.

Sad to say, that's the reason many dedicated teachers choose to leave the service.
I work with teachers and I am occupied with bao-ga-liao...so teaching included too sometimes.

True to say that where there are people, there are politics but like games, it has many levels, so the playing level is different...

Actually I kind of sympathise with that teacher. So hardworking, work overtime on a Saturday and then suay suay kanna locked out. 'Bosses' and colleagues may even gave her black face because MC for one whole year, must cover her workload

I've no idea how much she is asking for. Is it a huge amount?
Maybe she has Cleithrophobia or Cleisiophobia: Fear of being locked in an enclosed place.
