      Hello Jedamum and usaik,

Yes we are very sad to leave berries actually cos ds has been with them for so long and is a "loyal" student with them.

Actually heard from the admin that many are withdrawing as well.I am quite surprised to hear from ds that he is actually happy to leave.I was pretty shocked.

Am toying the idea to get a one to one tutor home just for paper two.On the other hand, am thinking paper two can actually handle by myself.I like berries cos of the materials, not so much on the teacher.Infact, I used the material to coach my ds and apparently he is better in hmt.Pretty amused too.He has good grasp of compre, not sure its due to berries or what.

Actually after this SA2 exam, I realised that to expose them to more chinese materials as in reading etc is the key to greater benefit.Book work is not hard, its the one or two"extra"in the paper that needed this part of "outside"knowledge.Just one cent of my thought.

        [Hi Brenda10,

        I am still thinking hard.
DS has no prob in compo and oral, just that I want his paper two to be better.

Centre may have better mateiral, private tutor resource may just subject to assessment books from popular, in which I can access and coach myself....So its really a delima, will decide after sa2 results is out.

Actually I prefer centre, but long hour, I dont favour, esp next year is Primary six.

        Hi there,

Now berries has merged the paper two with paper one, a three hour lesson next year for all pri five and six,

We are withdrawing cos its too long and draining. Many are quitting too.

        Hi Leanne

As such, are you finding another center or change to 1 - 1 coaching?[/quote]

          Hi Leanne

I share your view. We should be able to coach Paper two by ourselves.

However, we did not attend any center before therefore not able to comments their material vs those materials sales in the Popular

            [Hi Brenda10,

            Hi Brenda10,

I have visited another centre.Their material is drilling which ds doesnt like. For instance, this word he already know, and he has to repeat doing it for the whole worksheet.

As for in berries, the resources is 一针见血,instead going round and round.
Apparently, their materials is of standard. The next in line will be JIANG material which I heard from friend.

            Cheers,
            Leanne

Personally, I think till-date Berries programme are excellent. They have good mix of NOT just paper 1 and paper 2, but also oral exercises in their enrichment programme.

In addition, materials are well updated to sync with the happenings around. For example during YOG period, my boy was given a Chinese exercise on YOG. The materials on YOG were well prepared and kept the kids excited. I really was impressed by the the team who put the programme together.

Furthermore, just prior to the exam period, due to their good understanding of the exam framework, they also provide materials and drill the kids on tips for what to look out for progressively over the few weeks leading to the exam. This I think is an effective technique to keep the child prepared mentally.

What’s wrong with their P5-P6 programme now that they are extending it to longer hours? In what way are they better than the existing programme which can convince parents to continue their kiddo with Berries? Any 2011 P5, P6 parents have found out from Berries?

Just curious, would the kids stand 3 hours class after 6+ hours class in school? I think I'll just let my DS try the 1st term and decide later 😄

Hi, my girl has been with berries for 4 yrs and has been getting band 1 for her chinese. I must say berries has helped her so much all these years. A sad thing that I will have to withdraw her to other tuition centre next yr because of the increase in fees. anyone try molin before?
