      Hi luvmum

Sad to hear that you are still searching for CC.

I think most BP CC are full is due to the closure of 3 CC @Ten Mile. That's why I have problem finding one I really like too.

SJ and New Life is nice, both my kids were put on waitlist

Hope you find one soon... Good Luck

          chatelaine:
          Hi buds

          Thanks for the detailed explanation.
          You're welcome, chatelaine.

Just to share that different centres have different limitations.
I'm also a parent so i can empathize with parents' expectations
but i am also an educator, so to balance it... gotta justify both sides
of the fence. Hope it's ok with you...
          chatelaine:
From what I understand is 1 teacher teaching 20 students; With 2 assistant teachers to help out as in go toilet, etc. PG will be utilising inner corner classroom, no partitioned cabinet. Open space is meant for indoor playground šŸ˜ž
Possible scenario as well... to save time, the main trained teacher may
teach the whole 20 children either in parts or all at once with 2 helpers
assisting her with class discipline, new or crying babies, or those needing
toilet breaks... if the main teacher has to do the nitty gritties then it defeats
the purpose of having a trained teacher in the group. After the teaching
part is done, the 2 assistants (in-house) trained will work with their grp
of 8 and revise the lesson that was completed plus assist children with
the tasks or assignments scheduled for the day. This again amplifies the
basis that different centres work differently...

I have had to manage 37 children alone when i first started teaching in
kindy... it was challenging especially during the first few weeks of school
year... what with unsettled children, crying children, vomitting children,
children's anxiety and parents too of course. But i thrive in big grps
and i have had my kindy students coming up to me of late when i'm out
kai-kai with my family already in poly and all that.. their parents remember
me too.. if feels good to know that i was a part of their growing years and
          foundation.

Teachers and also parents in this day and time are lucky to get to work with/
have lesser number of children due to the adherence of MCYS/MOE rulings.
During my time, there were more loopholes... šŸ˜“ So we did what we
could to the best of our abilities and not to mention.... energy.

Ya Ya Ya...all of us have the same taste...but that's becos of the limited choice we have right. Such bad timing when Gracefield was closed and we are all stuck!!! 😢 :?:

              Hi buds

I get what you meant now. It's really tough being a teacher
Centre should help to lighten the teacher workload. If not, can go crazy with so many children to monitor.

  Wish we have more teachers like you

On the contrary, once the children are settled... it's more the-more-the-merrier

kind of environment. And i love it! Seeing the children all engaged in purposeful
play centres and working amongst themselves while we facilitate and observe
how they work and learn.... it's a priceless experience and definitely worth all
that time taken to settle them down. :hugs: Then, in a flash we see them all grown
while performing their acts during year end performances and see them getting
that graduation certificate.... sigh.... really.... it's all worth it.

                More teachers like me?

Don't think many will want.. šŸ˜›
                I'm too expensive.. :politebleah:

                No wait...

I had a few offers but they want me onboard very cheap.
The more blatant offers aren't even worth getting out of bed for..
Cheh... some bosses arh... want quality and want it super cheap..
Plus they also make me multi-task so many things, just cause i can
do it. This time when i go job recce i want to make sure it is worth leaving
my two girls with the maid and also my carefree SAHM life which i now enjoy..

Chatelaine... i sincerely hope you will find what you want. :snuggles:

                  :thankyou: buds.

I guess all cc are like this... Never pays quality teacher at the right pay. That's why teachers keep leaving.

                    Hi Buds

Thanks for your sharing, me too, was a preshool teacher before.while i was reading your post, i kept nodding my head. totally agree of what you have said.

                    Hi chatelaine,

it seem to me that you have many doubts on amazing star? if that is so, i think it would be good that you think twice before putting your child in the centre.

I just recd a letter from the sch informing me of the new sch fees.

Luckily it is only applicable to new student who join in after Jan 2011. Present students will still continue to pay $430.
I also took this oppty to speak to the supervisor and check with her if nxt year PG class is expanding to class size of 1:20??

The supervisor tld me they have the intention to split the current class into 2 classes next year as currently Pre-N class is rather big. They want to maintain a small class size (which i thought was very reponsible of them!) :celebrate:

                        chatelaine:
Amazing Star @Jelapang 2011 fee has increased to $480.

PG size 1:20 with 2 assistant teacher. Was wondering if this is violating MCYS guideline
