Dear mummyjoyce, the resort will be closed in 3 weeks time, and re-open in Mar 2011. These few months are the monsson months. I assumed sea conditions get quite rough during these months, since it’s South Chine Sea.

Hi Kola,Just come back from Redang 2 months ago… went during June holiday with my DH and 4yo DD
I think it depend on which resort you stay, most of the resort you still need to take a ferry to reach there, as the road in the island is not very well established.
Oct to Feb is their moonsoon period.
We went for a 4D3N, inclusive of all board meal, below is the daily activities:
- Wake up -> Breakfast
- Snorkel at marine park
- Come back - Shower
- Lunch
- Nap
- Snorkel at open sea
- Come back - play at beach near resort / continue to snorkel near resort
- Shower
- Dinner
- Relax near beach - play sand / walk on beach or to other resort / enjoy live music at resort
- Sleep
- Next morning - REPEAT
All we did were - SLEEP, EAT, SNORKEL (enjoy the sun and sea and nature) :imcool:
We manage to see baby shark, crown fish and eel… and many fishes...

Are there any minimum age / height requirement for snorkelling?
Did yr 4 yr old girl had any problems wif snorkeling? My 4yr old girl can't swim so i'm afraid that she may get freaked out (esp in the open sea..) That's wat kept me from going to Redang. But hv seen wonderful pictures of there. -

Anyone travel there recently? Noticed that they have increased price.

Any recommendations of nice 5 star hotels there?

Anyone can advise if it’s necessary to take the Laguna 3D/2N package or just the room only? Is their buffet lunch and dinner worth it?
Thanks -

Hello ,
I stayed at Laguna last Sept. I remember the price for fullboard and the room only package do not differ much. The buffet is not fantastic but is good enough to fill your stomach. There isn't much choice for alacarte either. You may go to some other surrounding resort to order some dishes, but i remember the menu do not have much variety. You might save some money, but if the price do not differ much, i suggest just take the fullboard package.

Thanks…cos we are plannng to do a 5d/4n hence was thkng to just take 3d2n fullboard and just room for the balance 2 nights, otherwise may get tired of doing and eating the same food all the way.
