\"Cottage\" class is a new pilot project and I don't think it will come to PHPPS soon.
That's a rather major decision for the school. Do you mind sharing from which \"source\" did you hear it from? The \"cottage\" class was posted by php some time back on MOE piloting the project and NYPS taking it up. If PHP would be doing the same, I wonder what impact would it make to the school? Perhaps school is taking this early step towards phasing out exams for the P1s by 2013?VbusyMum:
Jenneifer - I can understand....which is why I was thrilled when I hear there is a chance that P1 this year will move up together to P2. Waiting for anyone in this thread to advice if they had heard the same as there were some discussions on cottage style apprach sometime back. If this is true at least I know there are quite a number of good student in his class which can give him positive influence.
My boy SA2 has improved as compared to SA1 but EL not so good (altho still band 1 since most P1 will score 90+). Using some statistics shared by some of you earlier...my boy average score (estimated) is about 89...not 90 so prob no chance to Gr2. -

Yes. O&E he lost some marks but he also lost precious marks on MCQ compre due to careless (never read properly)...sign...that's kid.
The killing shot was the O&E Comprehension. Many kids lost the most of the marks there. Your ds did well with band 1 in EL. dd told me that there was quite a number getting band 2 for EL in her class.VbusyMum:

As for class, the top 4 classes are ok according to my dd's FT talk to them. i think likewise because the marks are too close. probably the first break will be in P3 as the kids are more settle down and also new subject in Science. -

A collage (From the French: coller, to glue) is a work of formal art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.

i thot it is called \"collage\" ?
A collage may include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or hand-made papers, portions of other artwork, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.
The term collage derives from the French \"coller\" meaning \"glue\".[1] This term was coined by both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art.[2]

in NYPS they are trying the collage class, as in the class is a mixture of kids with different level of ability -
Haha. I know what collage means. Thanks for the detailed explanation anyway.
So it's collage class, not cottage class. Thanks for clarifying. -

Someone with a child in P2 this year told me her child heard this: position 1 to 10 across the cohort in one class, 11th to 10th 2nd class, etc. Is this collage class???
