Be supportive of her Choice .... Afterall, she's the one studying there ....
my girl got in gep, but now she refuses to go to nearby gep sch, she insisted to join a sch with Chinese Orchestra : Taonan, Rosyth and Nanyang. and she preferred nanyang out of the 3. headache..
Let her be HAPPY with her Choice .... -
:congrats: to all who qualified and all the best!

My girl prefers NYPS becos she likes the nice building and can continue to play ruan/liuqing in chinese orchestra (CO). she is not considering raffles and st hildas bcos they din CO as cca. Rosyth is upgrading in 2012 and need to move to ITE (AMK), troublesome.. Taonan, not too keen.. the sch transport fare is so costly (more than $2K yearly) and it only send students back lastest by 4pm. the orchestra practices stretched upto 6pm on fridays. the bus aunty said confirmed cannot send her back on friday.
This is an issue i need to solve.
I am not sure her CCA records (started from p1, participated in SYF 2010, participating the coming competition in genting on 22 Nov) can earn her a place in NYPS).
I will just try for her this time..[/quote] -

Not very Often seen such PASSION in Chinese Orchestra in One so Young.
By All Means send in ALL the CO achievement to support her Entry to NYPS.
This Mummy here will cheer for U from the Side-Line!!!! -
Congrats to new GEP kids! And for those who got the thin envelop, I am sure they will continue to shine in their current schools. I haven’t seen my son’s envelop yet, guess it will be the thin one.

Hi! I am new here.
Today, my DD brought a thick and big yellow envelope back from school. She was selected for the GEP program.
But, she refused to change school. In her class, there were 5 of them went in the GEP. So scary!
As for the GEP, I was very happy that my girl went in. Also very confused. Don't should I suit her decision or change school.
One reason is my 2nd DD next year Pr 1. If the eldest changed school, then I will be very busy going two different schools.
Second reason is afraid that if go to the GEP, my DD will be very stressed. Heard that there will be a lot of homework and projects for them to do.
3rd reason is my 2nd DD will be very pressurized becos of her elder sister.
:scratchhead: :scratchhead:
Actually, I also not very sure what will GEP benefit the child if they take this course. Any advise?
Please help.
