CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary

PSLEmom:
Well, if you read some of the earlier comments, you can get an idea. To be fair, there are those who will have glowing reports cards and there are those who will issue dismal report cards on the school/staff. It all depends on your DD character/aspirations/PSLE score etc. Btw, i believe that the \"guides\" were school councillors (prefects)Hi Frenz,
I happened to visit CHIJ Toa Payoh for their OPEN House on 30th Oct along with a group of frenz. Only came to read about all your comments in the KP Forum today about the school. Frankly speaking we were not at all impressed with the school but the only relief was that it was a \"Girls Only\" school and next to the MRT. The senior schools did not even bother to wear their uniform properly and all with dirty school shoes including the \"guides\" who made us climb up and down all the 6 floors of the school building!!!! Their Choir and Band were great as they had short performances for the visitors.
As for the teachers and their coaching, would like to hear from you all.
Are there any parents of current CHIJ (TP) students who can share their views?

Hi Quintessential Mum,
Thanks. I will get her to read more books this holiday…maybe Amelia Jane. -

Hi Quinessential Mum,
Won’t Ronald Dahl be too difficult for a P1 student ? I am concerned with the level of difficulty for her.
Now, I’m thinking of getting a transfer for my son to a school with affiliation…really worried about secondary school. He’s going to P5 next yr. -

You may want to look for \"The Enormous Crocodile\" which was the first book that dd started with Ronald Dahl. The book was illustrated with interesting pictures as well. -
The Geranimo Stilton series is enjoyable reading for P1s, especially for those who are not really into reading. Lots of illustrations.

Sorry for late reply. I do not think so. My daughter read them years ago when she was in lower primary. You can check the ones for young readers at Borders/Popular  It is best to start them reading fiction and later to non fiction. Fiction helps in vocabulary, story ideas, sentence structure etc. Non fiction helps in writing factual /argumentative essays later on. Do encourage the kids to read widely! It is always a plus!Hi Quinessential Mum,
