Hi guys,
Just to confirm…there is balloting for Phrase 2C for pp staying 1-2km of SJIJ rite? I am staying 1-2km from SJIJ…anyone knows the statistics for the registration? Thanks… -
celica_lena,
Have you seen this:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/novena
Shows that historically, balloting for Ph 2C for 1-2km. What it doesn't tell you though is your balloting chance. For that, you need to know how many applicants were in the 1-2km group and how many vacancies available.
However, for the last registration exercise, you can refer to jimtay's earlier posting here on 4 Aug (see below). 43 applicants for 28 places gives you a 65% chance. Have you signed up as a PV? Cos then can go in at Ph 2B, which historically has balloted for Ph 2B only for >2km.jimtay:
For Ph 2B, from earlier postings here, 80 applicants for 62 places. the balloting numbers for >2km are below:
After some late withdrawals and last minute applications starting at about 4:20pm, there are 39 applicants within 1km (Congrats!) :celebrate: and 43 applicants fighting for the remaining 28 places. So about 1 in every 3 parents will go home unhappy on next Friday morning...tankee:
End of Phase 2C
School / 2C Vacancy / 2C Registered
Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) 19 30
Balestier Hill Primary School 150 17
Singapore Chinese Girls’ Primary School 48 54
St Joseph’s Institution Junior 67 82

SJIJ balloting for outside 2km.
51 applicants vying for 33 places. The lady who answered the phone couldn't give me the exact citizen vs PR figures...just said only a handful of PRs. -
Hi watchthewaves,
Thanks for your reply! I didnt sign up for PV at SJIJ cos i heard from my fren that they do not accpet PV. did i get the wrong info? I hope not cos i signed up for PV at Pei Chun. But Pei Chun still have to interview PV and also they have balloting for 2B for 1-2km so likely i have to go thru the balloting. If SJIJ only ballots for outside 2km then my chances will be better. I think i better call the sch to ask again. Its so stressful just to find a sch for my ds. The easiest way is to go to kheng cheng which is beside my place but i tot i will just try my luck with Pei Chun or SJIJ first. -
Sorry, I don’t know whether SJIJ accepts PV or not. Anyway, think too late now cos even if they do, applns should’ve closed by now.
Historically, at Ph 2C, they have been balloting for 1-2km. If last year’s trend keeps up, means a 65% chance in the ballot.
All the best in your decision next year. -
As far as I know, SJIJ does NOT accept PV for P1 registration.
On the other hand though, a parent can apply for PV if his or her son is currently studying in the school. I have met a few helping out during registration. I think they help out at the cathecism classes too.
Please take a look at the thread \"List of Pri Schools Do Not Accept PV Application\" also on this forum -
jimtay:
parents 'servicing' the school when their child is currently studying in the school are known as 'PSG' aka 'Parent Support Group'. PV are usually known for the purpose of P1 registration and not to be mixed up with PSG.

Thank you for pointing out :clubmyself: -
hi everyone!
in a sticky situation here…
my mom lives within the 2km radius of acs pri and SJi jr. where would i get a better chance of putting my son in 2013?
my girl, would most likely to be registered in Marymount Convent this year.
the balloting history put up has been most useful in helping me to narrow down the limited choices i have. how would i be able to check when the date is for phase 2c and the number of places available?
pls advise!
thanks
