All About Full-Time Maids

We kena d "summons" too being first time employer and the helper was "fresh" as well. However, I remembered is done through the phone. Doesn’t require us to bring the helper down to Great World. I think they asked our helper if she has well settled in our house as well as the safety rule in carrying out household chores.

First time employing maid… asked around and nobody dare to recommend any maid agency. Been browsing and only seen those bad reviews? Isn’t there any good agents out there?

recently changed a new maid, abt 3 weeks ago, and she just asked me whether can add her in the skype as she sees us talking to my dh using skype!! :shock: how would you react?

Oh she can access internet?

My maid of a year just requested to tap our house broadband to her internet mobile. She said she want to go into facebook. My kids had added her as friend in their facebook!!! I don't even know it. :idea: Still considering whether to let her tap or not.

no, she can't and she is not allowed to... but i am amazed at her IT knowledge.. is your maid Filipino?

2 of my 3 former Filipino maids have both invited me to be their facebook friends. I am amazed to see my last maid, who seemingly is a shy and quiet person, suddenly has hundreds of FB friends :!: And now she's dating some Swedish guy (she's working in Sweden now) and appears to be over the moon .


My current maid's elder sister sent me FB invitation even before her little sister joined us. She turned out to be a pain as she kept bothering me with messages questioning me why her sister is not getting a salary for the first 6 months and why she has no day-offs, as if she has no clue that all maids have a loan to pay off when they first come here to work and has no idea of the mutual agreement b/t us and her sister regarding her well-compensated day-offs :x . So I told my maid that I didn't want to deal with her sister anymore on FB. If there's any problem, just discuss with us directly.

It's hard to recommend...reason is such - for eg I recommend you a restaurant serving nice food and you visit too, only to have a change of chef and taste is not nice.

I got my maids from Express at Bukit Timah Plaza. The staff are not bad and are rather understanding...they understood that if I return the maid to them, it means my tolerance towards her is up to the limit...and won't insist that I take her back.
