Bigfoot you said that the bus company told you your pick up point may be as early as 6am. Where do you stay? I have a friend whose boy is also starting P1 and she said the MSH bus comes about 6.30pm (her neighbour's kid is MSH boy). She lives in the Sin Ming area opp Thomson plaza.

Sorry, since I already revealed that my son is in 1F, I shall not reveal where I am staying to prevent the identification of my son. :lol:

Anyway, u can find out where I stay by reading my previous post. All I can say is it is within 1km of CHS. I dun understand why my son must be pick up by 6am if thomson area can be picked up at 630am. I must check with the driver again. Somehow, I dun trust what he said that day. There were so many ppl and I am sure he had estimated the time in haste.

The bus aunty refuse to confirm anything other than shouldnt be more than 200 bucks and wont be earlier than 6am.

She say that they will have to consolidate their list first before finalising on anything! So, i got to wait till mid December to find out!!

Anyone signed up as a parent volunteer during orientation on saturday??


Haha - i told my dh to sign up as a volunteer for guitar playing for Mass n Praise n Worship (those 7am to 730am) slots!! He just gave me THE LOOK!!

Anywas - thinking after the school term start - i will chk it out again and see if anything catches my fancy!!

The boss (I think he is) told me that we can get a full refund if we find the timing too early. Book first so that he can plan the route.

bigfoot - thanks very much for ur encouragement. frankly speaking, i had never thot of MS also until recently, cos i thot ms not as up to mark as ch. when i shifted in 07 i had made sure i was within 1km of ch. the one thing i forgot to chk is the ballotg history of CH. even when the vacancies are only 9 this year for ch, i still thot can try ms at 2b is really history repeats. but lately i start to analyse and realise, wif so many new housing here, getting into ch will be super tough. n my boy isnt the bright type. so ch may be challenging. n since ms streams only in p5, maybe be better as he has more time to mature.


if i do move, prob have to consider pte as well, but so costly.

also, my gal studies in amk, will be far for her to travel too. the sch bus said pickup time from bartley to amk may be 6am but he prob anyhow quote. journey 45min

now toying btwn rental n buying cos i m eligible to sublet my plc.
scared moe will disdvantage rental applicants

I agree! Seems everyone is told 6am, mine too! I asked the guy not aunty, maybe it's their standard answer before they work out the routes. I was telling DH if so early we might as well send ds1 to school ourselves, it's only 15mins. drive, even detouring to send ds2 to childcare also dont need so early. It doesnt make sense for Tiong Bahru (which is so far away) to have the same pick-up time as yours and mine (Boon Keng/Lavendar).

Just my opinion. If I were you, I wouldn't take the chance. I will move. Frankly speaking, MS was not even in my radar when choosing primary school.
If u want my opinion, there will definitely be more spillover from CHS next year. I won't be surprise the Phase 2B balloting will get more intense.

You dont get good schools like MS that is not difficult to get in, it wasnt on my radar either until I found this forum, thank God! I didnt think I had a chance before. Soon, more and more parents will be aware of this open secret. The area is not that far from AMK actually.

ya maybe just reg for MS at p1, and waitlist for CHS (if my boy do get into CH at p3 but aiyo, lookg at him,…i dont think too much)
