Thanks S6169 for info. Back to square one for class allocation? I quite like the proposed method actually. It's a good change. P2 parents were more receptive last Fri evening.

      reason given by the parents:
      1. friends will be separate.
      2. one of the mummy gave an example: One Ds in Ch3 and one DS in Fa2. although Ch and Fa are only next door, but the student in these two classes are very different. one only talk about study and the other always talk about cartoons. So they can't be mixed.

I personally do not agree with the 2 reasons.

In life we are bound to experience separations, making new friends, & learning to respect & accept people's preferences. And I would think primary school is the best place where we should encourage kids to start cultivate such life skills.[/quote]But kids being kids, they needs time to build friendship so if change every year, would not be able to have strong friendship (esp for boys). When they grow up, there would bound to have opportunity to experience separations etc. From my own experience, I am able to have good memory of my primary school as I have the same friends for the 5 whole years. Can't imagine nowadays, friends change every year.

Put in that aspect is more understandable now πŸ˜›

But I recall last time I still get to mix/play with friends from other classes too. Before/after school & during recess time as well πŸ™‚ though, i cant recall how we managed to do so much during that schort recess period...

I don't know whether other classes have such test.

          Phew ..... Not For P5....

Just Got Report Book Back ....
Got Indicate Class Position, Level Position \"NO MORE\" ....
          My Gal Say - TEACHER Say - P Say .... Like This \"NO STRESS\" .... ???? :?

Like ALL of U Say .... No Indication of Next Year's Class ....
So Don't Know Remain in the Same Class / Promoted OR What???? .... :?

My Gal Is VERY VERY VERY VERY UNHAPPY over Proposed Change of Class Name Next Year ....
Her Whole Class Objected, And Extremely UNHAPPY Over the Proposed Name for P6 Next Year ....
          Resilience ....
(I Ask Her You Know What The Name Means / Implies -
REPLY : DON'T KNOW, DON'T CARE, Perhaps Got Something to Do with P6-PSLE Exam - la ....)

NOW CANNOT USE SHORT FORM ANYMORE!
MUST Spell ALL the 10 Letters OUT ....
          R-E-S-I-L-I-E-N-C-E (Yes, They Counted ....)

Since There is RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY Class ....

Actually, I wonder, Since this Affects the Students DIRECT-ly,
Why PH Never Have a Consultative Meeting with Them As Well - at Least with the Upper Primary Students ....

she said that the P3 stds are going to stream according to their Math scores. Not EL, as she said marks too close, not CL - marks too far apart, SC - didn't even consider this subj. Left Math as it has a more wider score spectrum. And true enough, my dd's class has a Math test today.( no warning to parents at all :x ), exam over and suddenly before school closed has to sit for such test. A real damper! to some kids. This P really needs to sit down and think wisely before implementing something like this which impact every level. I don't know whether other classes have such test.

yes, she said that yesterday. there will be M1, M2, M3, and M4 (next year P4). actually, she also very confused about these ranking system during the meeting and always turn back and checked with the assitant.
Any other P3 classes had the math test today? will go back and check with my ds.

during the meeting, some parents suggested that use the percentage instead of the level position. i am not sure wether is for the individual subject or for the total marks. Anyway, this will also be informed together with the student's classes location in Mid Dec.

Does this Means that IF Next Years MA Results Too Close / OR Too FAR Apart, and EL Marks Got \"Wider\" Score Spectrum, Then Next Year Gonna Stream According to EL ....

And IF Following Year CL Got \"WIDER\" Score Spectrum, Then Stream According to CL ....

Or Better Still, Depending on Whichever Subj Got Better (WIDER) Score Spectrum, Could End up as ....
                    P3 Stream According to MA,
                    P4 Stream According to EL,
P5 Stream According to CL ....

                    NO CONSISITENCY - la!!!! :?

                      Mine did hers.

I am confused here, very confused. :? What is the purpose of this Maths test today? For banding next year? Not using the maths results for the entire year, but instead, base on this test alone? Not making sense to me.

last time, Patience kids got hurt...now, if both Faith kids & their parents hear the message, they are going to get hurt too......

Aiyoh, My Gal is in FAITH Class, So Both of US \"GOT HURT\" ALready ....
As Mentioned B4, My Gal is a Fervant, DIE HARD Supporter of FAITH Class ....

Now to Think About It, Since she's been in Faith since P3,
BOTH of US GOT HURT, GOT HURT, GOT HURT - THRICE .... Ouch Ouch Ouch ....

And IF She is In FAITH Class Next Year (Presuming No Change in Class Name), URGHHHHHHH....
We R Gonna GET HURT ONE MORE Time .....

You made me laugh!

Come to think of it, mine 'loves' to be in Faith. P1 (BTPS), she was placed in 1 Faith, then P2, 2 Faith. Transfered to PH mid P2 to Gr2 and then P3, went bk to Faith again.

Whichever name her next year class she is in, I think she is fine, although she did say she really very used to Faith. More important to her, is where her gang members are gg to.
