Hi, for those of you with kids in SAJS, will u let him go to SASS or will you still look for another sec school for him and why?

ReganMummy:
I heard of bullying cases in this sch also...ever tot of sending my kids to this sch but not now. Friend told me he saw canteen fights..my neighbour who is from this sch did not leave a gd impression either..full of vulgarities, likes to spit ard(omg) and aggressive(in a wrong way!).I wanted to send my boy to this school but I also heard of some bullying cases, especially Secondary kids to the primary kids, all these from a Teacher teaching there who happens to be my bro-in-law's friend.
But, boys will be boys, I personally didn't think of it as an issue but my hubby is dead against it.
So I'm dropping the idea of sending him there..
I like the 3 in 1 though(pri-sec-jc). -
Hi, my boy will be joining the school in 2011. Anyone in this networking group with children going to St Andrews Junior School next year?

that's way too early for pick-up at Potong Pasir... and $95 sounds like robbery to me for such a short distance :!:i actually moved from Sengkang to Potong Pasir. the school bus conductor told me he will fetch my son at 6.10am... oh no!! They are charging $95 for 1 trip.

did you put your son on the sch bus eventually? -
I would like to invite views/comments/sharings from parents of SAJS boys on the school's academic levels, and what improvements can be done there.
So far the feedback I've heard is it is a good school but academic wise it is not strong esp its chinese where PSLE passing rate is below national average. Also, Only about 2/3 of its p6 cohort go to the express stream, which to me is really not ideal.
My son will be in p1 in 2012; given that we are staying near SAJS, we'll likely to enrol him in SAJS. But I'm quite concerned about its academic standards. I believe that a school that focuses on academics will get there, but does SAJS?
Appreciate your feedback!

I have the same thinking as you 1 year ago (before p1 registration)! However, due to convenience sake, I decided to enrol him in the sch. My boy will be in P2 next yr. He seems to enjoy going to sch though. He likes the trs too. Think that’s the most impt part of the learning process. What you can do is to motivate him to aim high. I do a lot of "pushing" and guiding at home to ensure that he doesn’t lag too far behind…
