What I know was a friend's ds last year t-score 239, with added 3 marks (distinction) accepted by Nan Hua.

Another friend's dd t-score 238 without taking HCL went to Chung Cheng High (main). She was invited for a test, if test ok then can chose the HCL.[/quote]Thanks Mummies for explaining. I think taking HCL is definite good as it helps to train pupils to write a more in depth CL Compo. It’s a long term benefit even not plan to go to any SAP school.

Usually the school will recommend base on the P4 CL result and also the other 3 subjects’ performance.

RI/RGS doesn't consider HMT!

It's simple - the HMT points can only be used for SAP schools

We didn't allow our 2 older children to do HMT, but our 3rd has great interest in Chinese culture, so there he is doing HMT.

So far I did not buy the yu wen yun yong. DD only works on her school worksheets, zhi shi bao and those past year papers.

I already got in the 2010 papers. During the parent teacher meeting yesterday the form teacher also wanted them to start with some topics of P6 during the school holiday as well as the test papers.

For ds, he is neutral about it.So, I let him continue.Take it as an enrichment.

For RGS,RI, they dont take into account of hmt, they still offer hmt right?

Yes, they offer HMT, but I'm talking about the use of points for entry to school, yah?

In my boys' school, all have to do HCL even if not taking HCL exam. Strange hor.

Oh, and in my elder boy's sec school - there is no option. They HAVE to take HMT. So for the 1st time, he is doing HMT. It seemed ok at first, but the last terms assessments were so difficult, even his tutor said that they were like Sec 3 standard (for HCL).
