      Mrsbongz:

PH has strong history in table tennis.. DH was selected for 'grooming' in those ancient days... top few in PH... and he had to keep training 1 to 1 with the coach everyday.. ended up, he hated it so much, he simply chose to stop playing.. n he never touched a bat to this day.. he said the teacher and school was obsessed!! he was only P3 iirc..

hopefully the coach is not that scary these days.. do see if your son has the interest.. and monitor his progress with an open mind ya.. πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the advice, Mrsbongz. You scared me already, think I'll stick with BB. :siam:

Hi markfch, you can let your ds try out different CCAs for the first two years. Not all CCAs are available to the lower primary. It's good to take up one or two to find out where his interests lie.

Do bear in mind that at P2, there will be a Speech and Drama (Sci Expressions) course for all the P2 classes. It will run from first term to third term. Most of the P2 kids will participate in this, so if your ds wants to take up a CCA that year, do ensure he still have time for his revision and schoolwork.

The top boy for P1 last year was in table-tennis. This year, he is still in the table-tennis. Apparently, practice days increased this year as he is in the school team. Though no longer in the top 3 level position, he maintained in the top 10 level position.

I know it's not easy deciding on a CCA. I let my dd run thru the yearbook and see what she'll like to join next year. She said GB looks fun, (which is also what I had in mind as it fits into her other activities' schedule) so most likely, she'll take it up.

            comfy:

Actually, for P3, there is one boy (2nd in level), perhaps he didn't come to school that day. FYI, the top 3 girls you saw, all are offered GEP. Hence might be able to see more boys in top levels for P4 onwards. πŸ˜„
2nd in level for P2 consisted of 1 boy and 2 girls. Out of the 11 kids in top 10, only 3 are boys.

a \"PHOTO SHOT\" With the Reverent and Who Else BUT \"ALMIGHTY\" Herself ....
I think only the P6s get to take photos with the P.

My Gal's Performance is scheduled Just After the TOP 10, so Did Not Catch the Rest ....

              :celebrate: :celebrate:

Hi, Funx3. So, your dd is one of the two girls that did the Gym performance with the ball. It's amazing! Actually, All the Gym girl have performed very well.
By the way, may I know when did your dd start this training?

Hey Thanks, Glad U Enjoy the Performance!!!!
So U R One of the Proud Parents Who R There With Your Boy / Gal?
              :celebrate: :celebrate:

My Gal Picked Up Rhythmic Gym (RG) Since Dec Last Year in PH, So Got RG Training for < 1 Year Only, And PH Start to Compete in Inter-School Championship ONLY this Year ....

But She's in Artistic Gym B4 that - Training in School Team from P2 (She's in P5 this Year) ....

As Mentioned in My other Posts Earlier, Artistic Gym is One of the CCA that Got the \"CHOP-CHOPPED\" Treatment Due To Not So Satisfactory Performance in Inter-school Championship and Schools' \"Dis-INCLINATION\" to Spend Money on Purchase of Gym Equipment to Expand this Sports in School ....

Mind U - PH Gym School Team Done Quite Well in the Past Few Year's Inter-school
              Getting 2nd / 3rd / 4th as School Team Every Year,
Plus Individual Medals for 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th Position as Well, in the Different Years in Various Events since the CCA is Formed (under the Previous P) ....
But Apparently Not Good Enough for ALMIGHTY, :?
              So CHOP -la ....

Thru the Years my Gal is IN the CCA, Got this UNCANNY Feeling that ALMIGHTY Actually Does Not CARE for this Sports Events -
Maybe Due To Her \"NO PERSONAL INTEREST\" in this Sports - Very Easy to See : She Got No Inkling of How Much Training, What Safety Precautions, What Gym Equipment R Required, etc for the CCA ....

(But Luckily Got Very Caring and Supportive PH Teachers and Coach who R Very \"Demanding\" and Dedicated to the Training ....)

OR Maybe Her Un-Happiness of the Sports is Due to A STRONG GROUP of Supportive Parents for the GALS involved in this CCA ....
              Mind U, the PARENTS R VERY \"VOCAL\" ....

So Now, My Gal Has Switched Over to Rhythmic Gym - \"NO CHOICE\" - la!!!!
Luckily She's Fine and Still Enjoy the New Gym Routines, Else Have to Look and Go for External Coach / Lessons Outside liao ....

Gals Performed \"BETTER\" Academically in Lower Primary ????

Aiyoh.. but my DH's experience was a few decades ago u know... do let your son try if he is keen.. I just thot to highlight that a too competitive environment will kill a child's interest.. My dh was not able to take the pressure... your son may thrive for all u know πŸ˜‰

                        Hi,

                        Forgotten to ask during orientation..

                        1. How do we collect our kids from school daily assuming we are fetching them ourselves in the evenings?

Are we allowed to walk into the school compound e.g. telling our DD to wait for mommy in the school canteen or must we wait at the main gate?

If I recall correctly, the way from lobby to gate is not sheltered & there isnt exactly a proper path way too (other than the metal barrier setup on one side of the road).

                        2. Also assuming the class name is gonna be changed starting P1, does it mean we shouldnt label the books till further notification?

                        Thanks!
For the 1st qns, we were asked to fill in our preferred pick-up point on the back of the name tag.. I presume, that helps the teacher know which child is to go to which exit to meet the parents??
