Is NAFA Chinese Dance Exam tough? My dd just started this year with them, next year starting the examinations. Not sure if she has what it takes for chinese dance.
Nowadays the Kids from NAFA Take the Exam at Grade 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and Final Grade 13 from the Beijing Chinese Dance Academy - Graded by Beijing Examiner.

Don't Worry About Passing - For the Dance Teacher-in-charge will Evaluate if your DD is Ready to take the Exam ....
If Your DD can Pass their Minimum Std, Will Allow to Take Exam, Else Will Not ....
So Far in the Past Few Years that my Gal is there, Every Year ALL the Students Pass With >50% Distinction, The Rest with \"Excellent\" Grade ....
Keeping the Std Very High .... NAFA is Very Strict on Maintaining the Std ....

If Your DD taking Grade 4 Exam Next Year (P1 Min Age), the Teacher Will Drill them on the Exam Pieces (which is everything they Learnt!) probably from Term 3 onwards until they R Very Familiar.

The Kids will B trained in Batch of 4 Students per Team, and they have to Dance to either Option A Sets of Dances, OR Option B Sets of Dances (these were given out about 1 mth B4 the Exam Date, Each Set of Dances Got 8 to 12 Dance Routines, Depends on Grade).

The Tough Thing for the Kids is to Memorise the Sequence for Both Options (The Kid will ballot just B4 their Exam to know which one they get for their Exam, so have to know Both ....)

As the Dance Music is Almost Continuous, the Gals Got No Time to think which is the Next Dance Routine, Else Will Miss the Start of the Dance - And Kena Marks Deduction ....

For My Gal's Batch (Grade 8 - P5 Min Age), Out of 14 Students, only 11 R taking the Exam ....
My Gal Said She Did the Exam OK, but Unfortunately Her Other Team-Mates has either Miss some Dance Steps / Or turn in the Wrong Directions for some of the Dance Routines .... 😒 😒

Guess they R Too Nervous - la ....

Hope the Examiner will NOT Deduct Marks for the Whole Team for that .... πŸ™ πŸ™

Anyway, Results Will B Out Early Next Year ....

Yes, I enjoyed working for Mr Tan during my PV very much. Was attached to the general office for a while & observed that those HODs were really swarmed with work. Actually a lot of effort & sacrifices by them is transparent to us parents. Usually we only get to see the end result.

No wonder I've heard of teachers who declined promotions to higher levels. Maybe the extra income is not worth the sacrifice πŸ˜“ .
