Thank you experiencedmother.
JRexpress, why not consider Zhonghua? It is quite convenient since you stay in Serangoon. I'm not sure about Nan Chiau but both my girls went to Chung Cheng Main. One went on to NYJC and the other to VJC.experiencedmother:

Forget about Cedar, unless yr kid has something good to offer on appeal.
Personally think Nan Chiau should be your top choice. Its results are going great guns. As your kid is a HMT pupil, no need to worry about affiliation pt later.
Since Cedar is quite out of the question, consider bringing her to the school open houses (those that you're considering) to take a look. She might like the environment there. Who knows?
we brought her to Chung Cheng today, she likes the programmes and environment there.
Can you kindly share more thoughts and experience about this school.[/quote
yaya, plse share your thoughts and experience about Chung Cheng. we went for the Open House. Like the school environment. Feel like an overseas school becos of its spaciousness and lake. The PSG is strong.
But the school seems to be declining in terms of COP and GCE O Level results. -
All of you want your children to go to RGS / NYGH , but why not try Cedar Girls’ ? Heard that it is quite a good school - has a president scholar, academics and cca all quite strong.

As per booklet, 214.. my friend advised me to +5-7 pt as this yr standard might raise. If yes, my girl will not be able to get in
Actually the standard of these schools are about the same. If I were you, I would look for one which have achieved the value added award CONSISTENTLY over the last few years.
You can try Deyi Sec. But not too sure about their COP.bigfoot:

area- Bishan, AMK or Toa Payoh. Sorry, please don't feel offended. I mean I need school with less \"ah beng\". After seeing news on gang fights, I'm worried.
Another thing u may want to consider. The CCA the school offered. It is good to go to one that offer the CCA u may be interested in. Just my 2-cent.

I was wondering if schools like ACS(I) secures my DS a place for a 6-year IP programme. OR do I have to go through IP programme at Sec 2 OR through O' level.
Which will you suggest, VS or ACS(I). If it's a straight 6-year IP for ACS, I will definitely opt for ACS(I). But I do not know what ACS(I) programme is..... :?: -
my daughter got a T score 0f 234. she was very disappointed as she expected to get into Cedar. cedar is definitely not an option now. what other schools do you suggest we consider?
some schools in my mind: TKGS, CHIJ TP, Tanjong Katong Sec, CHIJ Katong.
is it possible for her to get into tkgs? their COP is 233.
thanks in advance -

Thanks a lot! so the cut off point is the lowest score for entry to St Nic? only 1 point higher is enough? BTW, my girl also has a merit in high Chinese.
hi st nic cop is 247 so ur gal should be good enough to be in there. anderson got malay and indian if u dont mind.greg:
Hi,
My girl achieved 248. We are from China, and she started studying in Singapore in 2008.
We are wondering whether this is enough for Saint Nichloas Girls' School? The other one we are considering is Anderson.
We live close to Yio Chu Kang MRT.
Appreciate you suggestion/advice.
