If there are two students (A & B) with the same score, student A chooses school X as 1st choice and student B chooses school X as 2nd choice.
Does that mean student A will be accepted first? -

NotKiasuEnough:
Yes. That should be the logical way. All first choice will be considered first. If there are two students (A & B) with the same score, student A chooses school X as 1st choice and student B chooses school X as 2nd choice.

greg:
Thank you! Does that mean if my girl's score is higher the COP of a school, she can surely enter that school?KS Reloaded:
For cut-off-point COP comparison (every year can be slightly different), see ==> http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/psle-cops-2009-and-2010-secondary-1-intake
For last year's 'O' level results comparison , see==> http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/files/2010/01/o-level-result-annex-a.pdf
The above only shows the academic side of a school.
Some may consider many other things such as school culture, all-girl school, CCA etc
Good luck!
Hi,
My girl achieved 248. We are from China, and she started studying in Singapore in 2008.
We are wondering whether this is enough for Saint Nichloas Girls' School? The other one we are considering is Anderson.
We live close to Yio Chu Kang MRT.
Appreciate you suggestion/advice.
Greg
Currently, the first choice for her is St. Nic. followed by Cedar -- She prefers girl school.
Greg
The COP given is for LAST YEAR's cohort. So you should only use it as a guide. Given that last year's COP for St Nick's was 247 and your dd's aggregate is 248+2, her chances of getting into St Nick's are quite good. Of course nobody can say for sure. -
RGS vs NYGS
What is the difference?
My DD likes Maths, Science & Music. Her Chinese is alright.
Which school will be better for her? -

What do you mean by most? If my DS scored 254+2, is he absolutely confirmed an IP programme. It's really far from where I live, but I want an IP prog. for my son. If it is an O'level school. VS is nearer and cheaper.
Most of the boys in ACS(I) shd be able to get into the IP programme. If you have faith in your son, u shd try ACS(I). Give it a try. If you dun even let him try (when he is given the chance), isn't it an indication that u have no confident in him?Mad-Eye Moody:
I was wondering if schools like ACS(I) secures my DS a place for a 6-year IP programme. OR do I have to go through IP programme at Sec 2 OR through O' level.
Which will you suggest, VS or ACS(I). If it's a straight 6-year IP for ACS, I will definitely opt for ACS(I). But I do not know what ACS(I) programme is..... :?: -
Chung Cheng really provides a lot of enrichment programs that expose your child for a more holistic education. There are also plenty of overseas immersion, field trips, and leadership opportunities.
COP fluctuation is quite normal for most schools, cuz this is due to the PSLE results. If you take a look at the PSLE COPs for 2009 and 2010, schools like Hwa Chong and RGS also went down.
As for Olevel results, I think every school will always have a few students who pull down the grades, but when my children were attending CCHM, the passing rate was very high. Most students were eligible for JC, and almost all could go to Poly. Even in 2009, passing rate was 98.8%.
And currently I have a niece in CCHM now, and she said that the school is now more \"kiasu\" about their ranking, so they're stricter and focusing more in terms of academic. -

According to MOE, it is highly unlikely that there will be two students with the exact same t-score because scores are calculated to many decimal points. So the student with the higher decimal point will get to select his school first. If there are two students (A & B) with the same score, student A chooses school X as 1st choice and student B chooses school X as 2nd choice.
Does that mean student A will be accepted first? -
my boy got A for CL and a passed for HCL, can he take HCL is sec school? I read the MOE website, it said students can take HCL if he/she is within the top 10% or a A* in CL or a MERIT in HCL, he is not within any of them.
Please advise. TIA. -
