How many of your children are still taking 3rd language at the end of Year 1? I know a lot of kids have dropped it already.

Though i basically failed everything, i'm still doing

What year are you and what keeps you going? Which language are you doing?
I'm HCI sec 1 doing french. It's fun and you learn an extra language.. that doesn't count in your marks so it doesn't hurt to continue and fail. I think i should blame this to too little pressure on the other subjects? :\\

          To: JToh,

No, She didn’t take the exams, so 3rd lang will not be included in her final report.

my daughter has the option of doing third language.

            should I take it up?
any benefits besides learning a foreign language?

My DH trying to tell dd not to ‘waste’ time studying 3rd language just for fun - she’s one who’s game to try anything but not a very good ‘finisher’. We prefer her to just concentrate on her HCL. She wants to do Japanese, French also can or even German since Daddy works in a German Company LOL! But Daddy says no need - they speak English too!

                hey:]

i will be sec 4 next year and i'm still taking french at moelc 😄
i would really encourage people to take third lang, because it is really useful & interesting
but true, the drop-out rate is quite high and maybe about 20% will drop it after the 1st year, then another 20% in the 2nd year.
but if you can persevere :] (esp. in memorising grammar for french] , you will be able to suceed!
So which MOELC is moving - the Bishan Centre or the Ghim Moh Centre ?

it appears that the ghim moh one is moving, as it states that 285 Ghim Moh Road under the title \"holding site\" and next to it is \"final location wef Jul 2011\" at 25 Peck Hay Road

It'll be convenient for schools around that area like RGS, SCGS, NYGH...
It means only 1 centre will conduct all 3rd language?

the eventual location of the MOE Language Centre will be at Pek Hay Road, wef July 2011

Can appeal to take Japanese (or german and French) as 3rd language when not allocated?
