For students who are offered a 3rd language option - Are any of your dd/ds taking up? If yes, what language are they interested in? I’m just wondering if students are given the option to drop it if they cannot cope?

MGS is good school too. I have some nice frens from MGS.... but... are you not considering distance? Are you nearer Cedar or MGS (distance-wise) ? These 2 schools are in separate zone.

If nearer Cedar , then choose Cedar. If MGS nearer, then choose MGS.

Distance is key. It is not just about going to school. How about the need to commute for CCA , extra classes etc etc ?[/quote]I would suggest cedar. I was from there. besides academic excellence, cedarians are taught to be well mannered and respected individuals. not many schools offer that.

my daughter will be doing malay special programme. her t score wasnt that great,(234) so given limited options. my sister-in-law's son who is from VS (Sec 2) is doing German. I heard from him that it is actually pretty fun and you are not penalised for failing. As far as I am concern, it is a good opportunity for kids to pick up a foreign language. at least know how to converse.

So Jieting, tell your son to brace up. PSLE is only 1 small hurdle - road is still long.

I second that because outside world do not look at you PSLE results but it is whether you can work.

For T-Score of 230, can I choose:

1.) TKSS but COP 234,(Impossible?)
2.) Maris Stella, COP 232,
3.) Nan Chiau, COP 231,
4.) Temasek Sec school, COP 230,
5.) ?
6.) ?

I stay in Pasir Ris so Maris Stella is it too far? And how to go there?

take the green line to Paya Lebar. then transfer to Circle Line and alight at bartley station. about 40 mins ride.

Arabic? anyway, I am not too strict about her learning 3rd language either. think of it as more of an enrichment.

my dd also 253 +2. Also stay in East. also deciding between SCGS and Cedar. DD afraid can not find friends in SCGS since classmates will mostly go to east side schools...any suggestions?
