24hr-mum, wah, you still have to squeeze in another adult! We don't have a maid, so have a little bit more space.

I will tell you if I can cope after #3 arrives!
We are not comfortable with having a live-in maid. But we have a lot of family support. For DS1, I was working full-time, so grandparents will help.
Then when he was about 18m, we went to the US to accompany DH for a year. While I was there, I realised that many parents coped without help, even if they had 5 kids! And they don't even have parents living nearby to help! Of course, they were SAHMs (childcare is very ex!) and many of them homeschooled their kids. They trained the older kids to help out at home.
That experience reinforced my belief that I could do without hired help. So when DS2 arrived, I took no-pay leave, but had to return to work part-time when he was about 18m. I am with the kids in the morning when they are at home, and I work (often at home) when they are at pre-school in the afternoons. The grandparents (they take turns) will take care of the kids (usually only DS2) when he returns from school in the mid-afternoon, and I'll be off-work by about 5 - 7pm, depending on workload, to take over from the grandparents.
When DS3 is born, I'll take at least 2 or more years off work!! after that hopefully can find a part-time position. Can't cope otherwise. Get too stressed from work that I snap at the kids a lot. Also, my parents and in-laws are getting old - they find it hard to take care of 2 active boys. I think with 3 boys, they will peng san... -
Hi,
I have 3 kids. Next year, DS1 will be in P2, DS2 in K2 and DD who is turning 2 will be going to full day child care from Jan 2011 onwards.
Currently my mum stays with me during the weekdays. She looks after the kids while I am at work. We got her a maid to relieve her of the housework as my mum is coming to 70.
As there are so many of us, we drive a 7 seater.
I only intend to recycle the textbooks. Even then, this is subject to no new updated version of the textbooks. -

We've not brought our maid out in the past 12 years at least, I think, so car can sit, lah. I used to work, just stopped. Too much juggling.MummyThreeStreams, with 3 kids, you can cope without maid?

i do know of a friend who has 3 kids and no maid, no grandparents to help. she also does part-time work from home like me. really must salute.
people always ask me how to cope with 3 kids, i always wonder what abt others wif 4 or 5. i attended a couple empowerment course before. the speakers (a couple) have 6 kids. their photographer also have 6 kids!
just curious, did u all PLAN to have that number of children? my #3 was unplanned, but a gift from God. she’s very different from the other two, having good n bad role models from #1 and #2.
do the kids fight for tv shows, or other things? -

Nothing unusual. There are families with 6, 7, 8 and no helpers at all (and no grandparents).i do know of a friend who has 3 kids and no maid, no grandparents to help. she also does part-time work from home like me. really must salute.

I have 3 kids; 1, 3 & 5 YO. Still considering if I should try for #4 next year.
I have a maid when #2 arrives. Both my DS1 (K1) and DD2 (N1) are in now childcare while DS3 is taken care of by my helper at home. My dad comes to my place daily to supervise my helper.
If we go out without my helper, we will drive one car (normal sedan). DS1 will sit in his booster seat at the front passenger seat. I will be sandwiched between DD2 and DS3 (in their toddler car seats) at the back passenger seat.
