2010 PSLE: EESIS (top 3%) and 3rd Lang (top 10%) COP

If the COP for the top 10% is 249, it means the student are pack closer between 3% to 10% range.:
Yeah, it looks like top 10% starts from 249 then. If that's the case, there won't really be much of a drop in COP for top schools, since top 10% for last year was 248(even lower than this year's). There may not be any drop in COP scores for Top schools as such. At most, only 1 or 2 point drop, or none at all. -
ApronMama:
Parents, how do you go about deciding which 3rd language to take if you are eligilble for all the 3 categories ? Is MSP the most neccessary? and which is the ranking in terms of popularity?
Note: I am a student.
I chose Japanese because my school had Japanese lessons last year. Also, Japan is in Asia, so it's more likely I'll travel to Japan in the future compared to France or Germany.
Otherwise, you may want to consider Malay, because you can use them in neighbouring countries, where English is not that commonly used.
Well, if your child is interested in Bahasa Indonesia or Arabic, you may want to consider letting him/her take up the language. -

Based on Wikipedia, the lowest COP for SAP schools is 250. (not sure whether it's true)Goodivine:

So if it is true, RVHS can only drop 1 more point. -

My son 253, can go IP, but if choose CHS, EESIS will not exist. If 3rd year proceed to a IP school, is he still eligible for EESIS? Anyone can help? Thanks
Top 3 choices should be:
CHS
SJI
VS
Confused as his COP for IP school very far (Sengkang), ACSI or RVH?? -

Taking into account the top 3% COP drops 1 point to 260. Plus a slight decrease in PLSE student, 3492. This works out to less 100 student from top 3% students. This means more vacancies for those from 259 onwards in the top schools.Goodivine:

Since the papers are easier this year, we should expect as the T-score gets lower, the no. of students gets bigger. So the bulk of the students in the 3% to 10% will be at the 254~249 bracket.
My guess is those schools whose last year COP T-score is 254 and below will see an increase of 1 to 3 points. While those tops schools whose T-score is above 254 last year will see a drop in of 1 to 3 points.
My 2 cents again.

[/quote]Hmmm....why 254 ? I thought 3% to 10% should be at 259 ~ 249 ?Goodivine:

Is it that only the top 10% students will be allowed to take HCL in secondary schools?
